Good morning all,
Lou still hasn't done much of anything on this 2.25u dose, even though I was expecting more action last night. Today was his 5th injection at this dose, and I hope we finally see some greens. If not, I'll have to wonder what's going on if you add increasing insulin needs to the high hunger and vomiting. I'm just hoping that he's been at the higher numbers longer and it's increased his hunger, which is also causing him to eat too quickly and vomit. I broke up his AMPS meal into 2 and we'll see if that curbed any vomiting this morning. I'm working a double today so Caleb is manning the ship. Hopefully they can have a good day.

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and your kitties stay safe! Sending healing, love, and comfort vines to all those kitties and beans in need. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Better start this morning than he's had in a while, hope he makes it down to the lagoon.

The higher numbers are likely responsible for the increased appy, if you suspect he is scarfing and barfing, try to break up the meal so you slow him down.

What's his normal feeding schedule

We feed him PS, +3, +6, and +8 or +9. (1/2 cans at PS and +3 and 1/4 cans FF at +6 and +8/+9) He only throws up in the AM, right after eating, so I'm wondering if he's last eating at +8 the night before, he's hungry enough at AMPS to scarf and barf. It's all just not like him. He'd do it every so often, but not near as frequent. He's usually a grazer, not a scarfer... that's our civvie, Bella.

Well you're giving him regular snacks so that should help.
Perhaps in the morning give him a 1/4 can wait 5 min and then another 1/4 can, it might slow him down enough so that he doesn't get sick.

Could there be anything else going on?
Has he had BW recently?

I have to dole out my civvie's food in small increments over a 20 minute period to keep him from vomiting too. I hope that will help Lou also.

How's his weight? Is he holding or losing weight? Thyroid issues will cause vomiting too and hunger and more vocalizing. If he hasn't had BW in a while maybe worth a visit. ( my civvie has hypo thyroid)

Thanks ladies, for both of your input. It helps me not think I'm going crazing for worrying. The last time he had BW was in May, when we got the order to switch him from Vetsulin to Basaglar. No obvious significant results that I remember. I did divide this morning's meal into 2 portions (1/4th can each) about 10 minutes or so apart. Caleb isn't up yet so I can't ask him if he found any vomit. Lou hadn't thrown up while I was home, so that was a plus. His weight seems to be holding steady (I haven't weighed him in a while, but he doesn't look noticeably thinner or fatter), but a thyroid issue has been on my mind. He's been eating more, and he has actually been vocalizing a lot more lately. Perhaps I should bring him to the vet, although that makes me feel so guilty, the poor guy.
