Good morning all - I'm a grandma! At 5:11am EST, Vivienne was born! All the vitals are great!

But.....that means Leo's WCR is somewhat dismal. I got the call at 1:45am that my DIL was going into labor and DH hadn't left NJ to come to my apartment to take care of Leo ... which means Leo had to take a sudden and unexpected 90 minute drive in the dark and rain. And he HATES rain and thunderstorms... (the thunderstorms may account for some of his high PM values in the first place). I shoved the Cerena in him but it wasn't in there long enough, and I put the Rescue Remedy in his paws. But...about 20 minutes into the rainy trip....UUuuurrrrrfffff. All in the carrier, but I had lots of pee pads so I could roll them up into a garbage bag quickly. (I'm getting good at this.) So back on the road again, and ewwwww I smell poo. Pull over again off the DC beltway (ack!) and luckily it was solid, but he was SOOOO unhappy! We got there just in time for them to leave for the hospital and the baby was born only a few hours later!

So for the WCR: Pee (in the travel box - yay!), Poo (in the carrier, not so Yay), Purr and Preen, not so much. Play - huh? So really only 1 good P this morning. And he hasn't eaten much but probably got in about half of his first 2 breakfasts. Maybe that will help bring is BG down. :cry: Poor Leo

Hi Lisa, and oh my goodness, what a night for you and Leo! First, big congratulations on being a Grandma! What a pretty name, Vivienne! Yes, I think that would sure account for his high numbers. It's good he has something in his stomach. So baby and Mom are doing okay? Sending Leo some feel better and calming vines and you, too! You did great with everything in spite of the poo and pee in carrier.
Congratulations again on new DGG!

Thanks Ann, Jane and Devon! Mommy, daddy and baby are doing fine as far as I know. They are both probably asleep right now - it was a loooong day and night for them. Thanks for the vines - Leo will soak them right up. He won't be eating all his breakfasts, but I'm not going to even encourage it. Let him sleep away, baby boy.

ANOTHER NEW GRANDMA!!!! Congratulations!!! That makes 3 of us dancin' with new 'grands' in the last 2 weeks! My 'Laila Mae' GREAT-grandbaby arrived 7 days ago, Libby/Doug's grandson Sammy joined the world 2 days ago and now Miss Vivienne! Babies Babies Babies! LOVE IT!!!

My Leo sends your sweet Leo extra headbutts - hope he gets over all the excitement quickly.

Hi Lyresa - Leo just came out from under the bed and is sniffing around a little, and had a little bite to eat, so your Leo's vines worked!

Wow - three new grands at nearly the same time! Lots of excitement! Congratulations on YOUR great grandbaby too!!!

Congrats Grandma!!! And wow, what a night. You and Leo must both be exhausted. No doubt all the excitement's playing a role in his BG this morning. Get some rest you two!

Thanks Anne and Tara - Leo just came out and finished his first 2 breakfasts and is wandering around sniffing. I think now he'll probably fall into a good sleep this afternoon.

I'm not really tired, actually - just excited and relieved! (Ok, I did ~O) ~O) ~O) this morning!) I didn't really get much sleep - they didn't even wake me up - they called right after I did Leo's +6. I was thinking I should have grabbed some coffee on the way out the door, but realized I didn't need it - I was wide awake. But I'm sure I'll be tired later, and then Zzzzzzz.

Looks like I'll be shooting a blue following a bounce. Leo is calming down but tired. He did eat all his breakfasts eventually before about +9. This will probably be another greensweeping night after being up most of last night. Sigh. Gonna need coffee.....

Luckily his PS is a little higher. I didn't test him during the day because he was high and stressed. He ate but later than normal so I didn't think he'd dip low. I was surprised at the +11 though.

We'll see how it goes. He's locked in an upstairs room so if this gets challenging, the logistics will be more complicated. Sigh. nailbite_smile

Congrats on becoming a grandma! Have you picked out your "name" or what Vivienne will call you? Sorry about the ordeal you and poor Leo had to go through - travel doesn't really become him. But it looks like he is celebrating a day without travel. Here is some extra ~O) ~O) .

Thanks, Wendy - yes, hopefully Leo is settling and will have a mellow night.

I already have one granddaughter, and I knew from the start that I am "Grandma." When I grew up, that's what everyone was, not like now where you can choose! I want traditional, because I had such great grandmas, and I want to give the same thing to my girls :-) Thanks for asking!

Maybe Leo will cruise for me tonight so both of us can get some sleep. Poor guy, but he's got three P's in line, but still no Plays or Preens. We'll see how he does, bless a little guy.
