The update on Boris isn't so great. The reports came back + for lymphoma (lymph nodes and liver). Today he hasn't eaten at all and is lethargic again. Joe and I are devastated. Having just lost Blue in June and not knowing what tomorrow holds for Fiona yet.... Please I beg you not to think less of me but I've chosen to go with some chemotherapy for him. I can't face losing him just yet. I had a long talk with the oncologist and she was very upfront about everything and said we had a very good chance of it helping him - she wouldn't recommend it if otherwise. Boris is also quite anemic and they are thinking of giving him a transfusion tonite. They are waiting on the Vincristine tonite but started the Laspariginase while I was there. I got to sit with him for almost 3 hrs today. I'm so sad - I had such hi hopes last nite when he looked so good. Tomorrow I have to be back there @ 0800 with Fiona for her ultrasound and the possible surgery after that Please give all your kitties an extra big hug tonite!

((((Patti)))))

How could we think anything but good things about you? If Boris was telling you it was time, you'd hear him. The only time I get angry and yell at my computer screen is when a bean gives up on their cat. You haven't given up. You, DH, and Boris are fighting. The best medical advice you are getting is telling you that there is a reason to keep fighting. So please, let Boris know that there is an entire community of beans and their kitties who are sending him vines and snowflakes and good thoughts to help him in whatever way he needs it most.

Sending positive vines, snowflakes and healing vines to Boris and HUGS to the beans. Please know we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers for a great outcome.

Patti, I am so sorry to hear of your sweet kitty's diagnosis. You are doing your very best for him and I know that he greatly appreciates you and DH. Sending healing energy to Boris and caring and support to you and DH.

(((Patti)))

It is NOT a bad thing to do chemo esp for lymphoma. The rates of remission are fairly high. We also elected to start Teddi on chemo...if they are willing to fight, you must too. I agree with Sienne that he will tell you when he is ready and he isn't telling you.

We will send many, many, many prayers and healing vines that your baby will respond well to the chemo and you'll be able to take him home. Teddi was better after one treatment of the vincristine...so I will hope and pray you will see big strides with Boris quickly. And many prayers for Fiona, too.

You are a wonderful, caring, incredible bean and we are all here to wrap our arms around you in support.

Patti-

we think the WORLD of you...and what you are doing for Boris only increases our admiration.

Sending fervent prayers and blizzards of snowflakes for Boris & Fiona...

You must follow your heart and your Boris. He will let you know what is best for him. He sounds like a great fighter and you will be giving him a good chance. We are sending lots and lots of healing vines, prayers, and positive thoughts for Boris and Fiona. And lots of strength for you.

Many, many hugs and much love to you and your family,

Ella & Rusty

Oh Patti. I would do the same thing if I were in your shoes. Give him a chance and see how he responds to the chemo. I hope the transfusion helps him tonight if he does get that. Come on Boris, you can do this.

I will be praying for Fiona and for Boris and always for you and Joe.
(((((Super strong hugs to two of my favorite people.)))))

Patti My civvie had lung ca this May & we chose to give him chemo as we wanted some more time with him, which we did get some--Totally understand, & you must do what your heart says--Hugs & Love-
Sending Healing Green Vines to dear Boris tonite-Prayers that the chemo will work!

So not the news I wanted to see.

I remember when you adopted Boris. I was in AZ at the time (for the
winter). And remember thinking what a wonderful cat he was, and who would
take him in. So few of us in the PNW.

And YOU took him in. I guess he has taken you into his heart, also.

Remember when I brought Pauline to you and I asked to meet Boris.
He reminds me so much of my Smokey.
I've always had a special place in my heart for Boris.

Sending special prayers for Boris now, you, Joe, and of course Fiona.

I don't think anyone on here thinks less of you with regards to your decision. You do what you feel is right for his wellbeing and to help him get better. Sending tons of healing vines and positive thoughts for Boris. I wish for him to make a full and speedy recovery. Hang in there!!!

I'm so sorry to hear about this, but it sounds like the chemo has a good possibility of being effective, which is great. I can't imagine the stress you are under with Fiona being ill as well... take care and know that so many are holding Boris in their thoughts.

Wishing with all my heart that good results are in store for Boris and Fiona.

There is an amazing lymphoma group on yahoo. I recommend you join.

(((((((((Patti)))))))))) Sending lots of hugs your way.

I'm really sorry to hear about Boris's DX but it seems like there is a good response to chemo in kitties. You are not horrible for wanting to try it! Hoping for the best outcome for everyone. Prayers for healing and peace.

((((Patti and Boris)))) everyone is right, do what your heart tells you is the right thing to do. When Lucy was so sick, NOBODY thought she would make it. Not even the ER vet, nobody. There was something in her eyes, though, that made me tell them "keep trying." I'm so glad I listened to my heart or I would not have had the last 4 years with my girl. Even if it doesn't work, if your gut says to try, then try.

Sending vines and prayers for you and Boris. I think it's great you are giving Boris a chance with chemo. I am praying he rallies with the treatment. Will be looking for an update. Lots of hugs.

Many thoughts and prayers for you, Boris, and Fiona. Like everyone else, I think you're doing exactly the right thing by treating the lymphoma with chemo. Kitties do well with chemo, and lymphoma responds well to treatment. No matter what decisions you make, we all know you have your kitties' best interests at heart!

Amy

Dear Patti,

A lot of folks give up when kitty is diagnosed with diabetes. Neither you nor Boris gave up when you got that diagnosis. Just look at how long Boris has rewarded you for your faith in him then. You followed his lead then and are now.

Much love is coming your way now. Soak it up and share our strength with Boris.

(((Patti))) Healing thoughts and prayers for Boris.......I'm glad you are fighting for him and he feels all your love....he would tell you if he didn't want to fight.

I have to agree with everyone else here .. we would never think less of you for wanting to give boris every chance there was .. I'll add you into my prayers and hope that boris starts feeling better soon after treatment ...

Sending healing thoughts and prayers to you and Boris. You are an amazing bean because you are not willing to just give up. I will be praying that the treatments are successful and Boris is feeling better.

thinking about you all this morning, wondering how fiona did earlier today with her tests and if she had surgery . . . looking for an update on boris too.

you're in our hearts, patti. we have great confidence in you and your decisions. it's a gift of love to give your little ones a chance. :YMHUG:

Patti,

I am sorry to hear that you, Joe, and Boris are going through such a difficult time. There is no reason to think less of a person for giving him a fighting chance. Boris will let you know when he has had enough.

I am/will be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayer. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: cat_pet_icon
