Wednesday morning, Pre-shot test came up w/ a 370. My be high because Clyde was in no mood,struggled a bit , wanted his breakfast.
 
Hi Richie and welcome to our lantus family. You have gotten great advice from the members here. I'm glad you saw the need and switched to lantus. It works great for many cats and lots have even gone off insulin.

Keep up with the home testing. You will find after awhile that most cats find it routine. Many even going to their testing spot.

That's a much nicer # this morning for Clyde. Hopefully he'll come down a bit more for you today. Remember, it takes time, and a whole lot of patience to see better #s on a more regular basis. We've all been there. Just have patience... It'll come. :-D Have a great day!
 
eventually they figure out that they have to have the test in order to eat - it took punkin about 2 weeks to give up. now he hops up on the sofa hoping that someone will test him!

now you're on to the patience part. you can't hurry the process - there's a lot of waiting as clyde's body responds to the lantus.

eta: now it's time to get a spreadsheet going for him. it lets you and us see at a glance what how he's doing and what he needs in terms of dose. i know you're gone all day - just wondering if your wife could help set it up. there are links in your condo from yesterday on how to do it. it's really essential to manage the information. good luck! and ask if you need help.
