Yesterday mostly yellow

WOOHOO! We have GREEN! Papaya has climbed down into it gradually over a few days, for a change, instead of bouncing in and out of it. I just realized it's been a year now since she was diagnosed as diabetic, although it took a while to get her on insulin so it's not a year of Lantus yet. I still don't feel like I have her QUITE figured out but making progress I believe

Papaya usually goes right back to sleep after first breakfast & shot, but early this morning she was awake and propped up on a pillow beside me quietly licking her tummy. I hoped that meant she was feeling good today! I'm so glad to see the green, and I'm sure she must be feeling better now that her BG has been a bit more stable. My best friend who lives exactly on the opposite side of the globe was Skyping me last night and her little girl always asks to see Papaya, who obliged by letting me rub her tummy for the webcam. She's famous worldwide party_cat

I am very happy to hear that my your Papaya is feeling great and lively!
I can't figure out why I have such a soft spot for Papaya, but I do!

Aw, thanks Mariko, you're so sweet. I think my Dad feels the same way about her - he's always proclaimed himself to be more of a dog person but somehow Papaya has claimed his affections too!

What a nice slide for Papaya. It sounds like she's feeling good. It is bittersweet to think of it being one year since diagnosis. You've gotten her through a year and she's doing really good and feeling good.

Looking great! That is a reasonable slide down to green. Now, let's do reasonable slide back up, ok Papaya? Maybe some more tummy rubs today?

well, then it doesn't count..right? I try not to think that Tom has been on insulin for 6 months.....I think of him as being on Lantus for "only" a little over 4 months. and I say it is okay for us to think that!!

Such lovely numbers for the world famous Papaya....I think she is trying to tell you something....

24 hours so far of those nicer colors of the rainbow.....

congrats on all your hard work and dedication.....you both are doing so well

Carla, Melissa, Kelly and Lara . . . can you believe it? PMPS is 112 :-D

I have been knitting as fast as I can today, since some smartphone cozies I sell in my Dad's computer shop have just started to move (a teacher and two kids bought them this week, so there's definite potential once the other kids see them) and I want to have a big batch finished to send back with my parents when they visit next weekend. Busy with that, I was pretty much leaving Papaya to her own devices other than a couple tests and snacks, all of which came to her in bed where she has been alternately burrowing under and half sticking out of her favorite purple quilt. So I really had to chuckle when at exactly 4:15 I heard her scratching a box in my room before she marched out to the hallway, as if to say "hey you with the knitting needles, could you get some supper going here please?" It's like she has a wristwatch under the fur somewhere! In fact she was so eager to eat tonight that she leaned forward into more of a four-legged stance - not quite a normal crouch, since her back legs still aren't strong enough, but closer to it than the usual lucky-cat-sitting-on-bottom pose.

Last night the PMPS was nice blue but went up into yellow for the rest of the cycle, so I am just cautiously optimistic that she's actually going to stay in good numbers tonight . . . but so far so good.

Sorry if I don't get to a lot of condos for the next couple of days, I've got to keep at this knitting, but I will be thinking of you all even if I don't post much! Have a lovely evening. I'll check in later when I see what Papaya's numbers are doing tonight! Thanks everyone for the good wishes for her.

No, I can't believe it. I might have to get some metamucil.

Good job on the smartphone cozies! Hope you get a lot done.

Re: 9/27 Papaya AMPS=283 +4=153 +6=78 PMPS=112

Hi Melissa! I switched to doing the cat phone cozies with a bulky yarn so they're cushier and really fly along! I want to get at least one more done tonight, though!

With the Metamucil, it seems like it's just the timing - she's been getting it the whole year, but at the preshot meal. Now it goes in her +1.5 meal. Still hoping it's not just coincidence because I'd love to finally level her out! She's at least having a good night tonight and seeing green again, hooray.

Papaya is looking very lovely today...it does seem like you're on to something with timing of the metamucil. My kitties have those hidden watches, too...I don't know how they do it, but they definitely know how to tell time.

Have a great evening, and good luck with all the knitting!!

Thanks Amy! The telling time thing was really interesting to me today because I was home all day, so it wasn't a matter of her knowing from my routine what time it was, or the fact that I'd just come in. They seem to have a really good sense of time . . . got to wonder what goes on in those kitty brains!

I fed 14% (Papaya's medium carb) at +3 and +4 since I really don't want her diving. The +5 is (hopefully) just from the MC and not launching into a bounce. Hear that, Papaya? Noooo bouncing.
