Good evening,

thank you so much @Staci & Ivy, @SmallestSparrow, @Diane Tyler's Mom GA @Wendy&Neko @cecile & bella for all the good wishes and your advice! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

To not bump the yesterday post I will answer you questions here and give an update:

After Binie was terrifying high last night and the ketones kept rising (0.4 at amps) I was really worried. She was eating but I could see that she was feeling unwell. She went down a little before her injection this morning and during the day she saw yellow numbers again. While I'm writing this at 2.5, we are already seeing blue again. I can clearly see, that she feels better. I don't know if it is because of the Veroflox but I think so. It did help her before - just not enough to erase the bacteria completely. I was measuring her ketones at 1.5 pm cycle and they went down to 0.1 mmol/dl again, which is a relief. @Wendy&Neko: Thank you for stressing, that I should keep an eye on it. I hope the positive trend regarding her bg and the ketones continues.

The good news is, that the other antibiotic arrived earlier and I could pick it up from the vet today. I have to give it three times a day to keep the concentration in the blood constant. Tomorrow is the last day being outside the house for work the whole day, so I start on Sunday. I am a bit nervous, as it can have severe side-effects and as it is a liquid, I don't know if she accepts it. But that seems to be the best of the few options we have now.
@cecile & bella Yes, we made an antibiogram, that unfortunately doesn't give us many options to treat her. That is why we had to import this antibiotic from Switzerland.

There is one vet tech, who likes Binie a lot and she gave me the antibiotic in this bag:

I was very touched, as usually vet techs hate Binie, because she is so spicy. But this woman is Binies special friend and she is always taking the job to work with us.

So this day ends more positive than the last one and with some hope.

Hope all of you are well! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike did you mean to put 171 in the 2 cell like this 171 @+2.5 and then color code it manually
I see it in the 3 cell
Also you need to fix the date on your SS for today you have 27.06.2024
Such a great update though and I'm so glad she's feeling better :bighug::bighug:
@Heike & BInie

Hi Diane,

thank you so much for your support, I fixed the date. Seems I am tired... 171 in the 3rd cell is right. She was hanging around this number for half an hour now. I hope you are well and you have a great start in the weekend! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

No problem at all , I hope Binie continues to stay blue or even some high greens
@Heike & BInie

Thank you so much Diane! She is dropping further now and the libre shows 118 now. So green might be possible. I prefer her doing it at night, when I am at home. So I have hope she will not go so low when I am away tomorrow. I hope you have a relaxed day today! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Yay Binie!!! Maybe she just missed you. Maybe our cats trade colors as mine is now back to pink (yeah yeah I got to update my SS, just came back from vet with the other boy but I will do it). So happy she’s doing better, and you did a great job keeping her ketones in check! I hope you both have a restful night

Thank you Colleen! Last night this time she was sky high, 20 minutes ago I was stuffing pill pockets inside her and even some syrup, because she kept dropping and was 43 on the libre and some time before 85 on the handheld. Poor girl, I had to poke her two to three times each to get blood, her ears look awful. I can see she is angry now. :( Now she is 117 on the libre, so I overdid it a bit but I was in panic. It's 1.39 am here and I have a full day of work ahead of me. But I am happy she did this in the night and not tomorrow, while I am away. I just wonder how this can happen, after being sky high for many days. Can two days of antibiotics make the difference?

Happy, Methos saw some blue numbers today! I hope Tammuz is getting better and the trip to the vet was helpful.

I wonder when I can go back to bed.... :rolleyes:

I hope you have a nice evening and a good night! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

:bighug::bighug::bighug:
I hope you get/got some sleep. I’m sure Binie will only remember the wonderful pill pockets. I also use those for their carb content.

I thought Tammuz had abdominal breathing but no it was just shallow rapid breathing ; the vet thinks maybe he’s in pain so tonight I must try to give him pain meds squirted on his gums. I’m anticipating it not going well:nailbiting:

Hi Heike, I’m so glad Binie is seeing nice numbers and doing so when you are home. What a Relief. (Except that it keeps you up too late when you need sleep).
So happy the antibiotics came in from across the border. Wishing you positive luck with Binie taking them well. :kiss:

Very happy the ketones are fine. Whew!
Good luck tomorrow and then you will be home again. I know that will be a relief for you and Binie.

Hope you are both sleeping well :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh wow, this has been quite the rollercoaster for you. I'm glad Binie is out of those high numbers. When Bell had ketones before starting insulin, I was so stressed about it. This board saved us from starting Bexacat while she was high in ketones, which would have been really bad.

I hope you get some sleep and that Binie surfs safely!

Hi Colleen, I am so sorry Tammuz might be in pain. How did you manage to give him his pain meds? If I have liquid meds, I always mix them with churrus, because I could never squirt them in her mouth. No way. I hope Tammuz is better and recovers fast from the pancreatitis.

Hope you have a calm evening! Give both your boys a cuddle from me! :bighug::cat::bighug:

Thank you so much for your support Staci! :bighug::bighug::bighug: I am finally home and so relieved. The next two weeks I can monitor her, while she takes the antibiotics. Makes my life so much less stressful to know, I can be there for her. Glad you are home too! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Seth, yes, it was a rollercoaster. I wonder how Binie felt. It must be very unpleasant. Unfortunately she is still on the rollercoaster and very high now.

I am so happy you found out, that Bexacat is not the right drug for Bell before giving it to her. I always wonder, why vets sometimes seem to ignore this important fact. I hope Bell is fine! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
