Hi all,
yesterday finally i was able to do PMPS after two days of failures...thanks to vaseline!!!

So i decide to no shot, i failed this morning with test, so i continue to no shot.

After work at +9 at 5.30pm (shot time 8:30 am/pm) I redone a test 77, +2pm 70.

Batuffolo stay very good, plays, jumps around...i'm monitoring his weight,
He didn't eat all meals, i calculated about 240gr of wet food for his weight 7.4kg ? (maybe i must try to divide in multiple part, i try in 4 time a day)..he eats about 120/150gr maximum..alternate between purina dm and sheba patè/sauce lovers.

Thanks to all,
you are my strength

Buonasera Mauro and Batu!
I had been thinking about you.

I think that given the low numbers it was good to skip the shots, especially as it is difficult to get those tests.

Did the new food from zoo plus arrive? Does he like them?

It sounds. Like he is not eating enough of his wet food. Is he an indoor only cat? Could he be getting food from a neighbour?
Dividing his food up may help you get him to eat more, it is worth trying.
I find that with the wet food my cats eat better if I vary the flavours, they seem to get bored. I have 4 flavours which I feed on rotation, and that works best for us.

I think that if you are going to give insulin again, you should consider reducing the dose from 2u.
From the numbers you have it seems to me that 2u is too much
With the difficulty you are having getting blood glucose readings, and with the low numbers you are getting I would be extremely cautious, I do not want to see you face a hypoglycemic episode, these are scary at best, and I have seen them be tragic, please be very careful.

Normally we would reduce to 1.75 from 2u, but with the problems with testing and the limited readings I fear that 1.75 u may still be too much insulin. With the limited data it's hard to say what would be a good dose if you see the numbers rise. I am going to ask some other members to take a look and see what the think.
For now, if numbers are lower than 100, I would not recommend shooting in your particular situation.
He may still need to have some insulin, but for now with what I am seeing and the limited tests, my main concern is to keep Batu safe and not see Batu become hypoglycemic.

He is indoor only cat.. no way to take other foods.
Monday will arrive new foods from zoo plus, GranataPet and thrive + cosma snackies.

For sure if values increase i will start SLGS protocol, after dx i start with Vet advice but i will change reference to help us.

I’m very sorry about tests, with vaseline i feel more positive, but i know i’m not a correct model to follow.

Thanks again Gill for your indispensable support

If numbers start to rise, please post here before deciding on a dose we can work through the choices with you.

I hope the new foods are a success and he starts eating more. Is he eating some homemade chicken too? It's important that he should get enough calories, I don't think that 150g of canned would be enough for a cat his size.

You are doing the best you can with the tests, keep trying, keep rewarding him when you try, and eventually I have faith that it will get easier.
