Yesterday's Condo

I'm suspecting a fur shot today. Frustrating as we're finally getting back on track with good numbers! He's been hiding at shot time, and when he headed towards the basement this morning, I didn't feel like sitting on the steps (I shoot with Willie in my lap), so I put him on the counter. Pretty sure the needle didn't go in, but I didn't smell any insulin, so there is a chance that this was a food bounce and I'll come home to nicer numbers tonight.

Willie was especially snuggly afterwards. I should be at home in bed today but came to tbp anyway. Hoping it won't be too long of a day.

Oh, happy surprise! Can't complain about this number. Got home a few minutes late, but Willie wasn't hollering at me as usual. I think i woke him up! He's finishing 1st dinner after some play time in the backyard.

I've only got enough raw venison for another batch of food (about 9 days) and I've got about a week's left in this batch so I ordered some canned food today. Petco was out of Wilderness Duck, so we'll be trying the Innova and mixing it with the BG to keep the phosphorus numbers down. Hoping that Innova will work for him... it is priced right!

I contacted Avoderm over the weekend and got back an email today about their carb %. I don't remember if you have to do anything to the as-fed numbers or if that is the percentage you go by? I'll be posting this over in health as well. Does anyone know who authored the newer food chart? I have it but would like to see if they can add the Avoderm to it.

Looks like it probably wasn't a fur shot after all!! With insulin having such a strong smell, you probably would have smelled it if it was a fur shot anyway.

Hope everything is well with you. I've been absent for a couple days and I always feel like I've missed things when I get back!!

Yay for no fur shot. I also shoot with Maggie on my lap and worry when I change spots. I saw on another condo where you feed Willie Merrick BG turkey and Blue Wilderness Duck as they are lower in phosphorus. I'm starting to slowly introduce lower phosphorus into Maggie's diet, so I'm going to look for the BW Duck. I never knew cats liked to eat duck! :lol: Sorry, I have strange sense of humor. Thanks for mentioning these two foods.

Sounds like Willie had a nice quiet afternoon, probably snoozed the day away.......ahhhh the life of a cat.

Willie has spent most of the evening watching TV on the couch. LeDubLian McFluffypants was being a punk and refused to come in to the bedroom for his poke, and let me know in no uncertain terms would he be coming of his own volition. 5 minute argument full of huffs and "But MOOOOMMMMM"s. Then there was pouting when I imposed curfew and closed the pet door. And now, as I type, he has jumped on the bed with a big huff as the laptop is in his bedtime cuddle spot. Seems I can't win, so i might as well get to sleep! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Thanks for getting the Avoderm numbers. You have to take the As-Is which I'm assuming is the same as "As Fed" and plug into Janet's calculator. Here's what I got:

Chicken: 9% calories from carbs
Fish: 8%
Pinnacle Chicken and Tuna: 5%
Pinnacle Chicken and Ocean Fish: 5%
Pinnacle Ocean Fish: 4%
