Well, welcome to our stinky pinky morning. :roll: Thus far, she's only eaten ~1/2 her breffis. I am refusing to hold her bowl and obviously she's not starving, maybe she's just not very hungry because I left out her 2% last night. Not sure why I left it out; probably because she hadn't eaten since PM +2 and I felt bad...big softy I am. This morning, the 2% was gone, so maybe she ate it right before pre-shot?! Whatever! She'll have a drastic drop, I'll give her 11%, blah, blah, blah! :YMSIGH:

She is being playful right now...sassy hand she cannot resist! Ok, off to get her +1 poke. Sending healing vines for all who need them and wishing everyone a Happy Wednesday! I'm sure I'll be back this morning...faculty meeting... :lol:

oh I have so been there... everything you just wrote about. So many times I have given myself the carb lecture. Well, Shasta will recover, a little high at first amybe... That +1.5 is encouraging!

Man, oh man! I am all sorts of OFF today! The faculty meeting wasn't today...it's next Wednesday. Someone was parked in my parking spot today (assigned parking), so I had to park in someone else's spot...chain reaction. Then, at the end of first period, I got a rude awakening that it is an early release day and all classes are shortened by about 10 minutes. Doesn't seem like a lot until you are trying to get your students ready for a concert in less than 2 weeks and need every second!!!! UGH!

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I shot an extremely skinny .75u this morning...again, not helping Shasta's high numbers. :sad: Ok, 5th period is starting...

So...numbers have been ok tonight, but there's something else going on with her. When she walks, I hear a clicking sound. At first, I thought it was a nail that was too long and was "clicking" on the tile, but then I heard it when she was walking on the carpet and I trimmed her nails, just in case. She's not having trouble jumping up on the couch or anything (or tables...for those of you who saw my picture last week of shredded papers on my table!) Upon occasion, I swear I see one of her back toes sticking out like she's having a muscle spasm?! Anyone ever seen this with their cat or heard of it?

One more question/situation, when I shot tonight, I thought I smelled a little Lantus afterwards. I checked the area and it wasn't wet, but I could smell a faint odor. A few minutes later, she came running into her LB room all crazy and such; stopped, sat down, licked her side once (I shoot in her scruff), made the weird "I just licked an envelope and it tastes disgusting" face and started the "cleansing the tongue" ritual. For the next 5 minutes or so, she just acted weird. I wish I had thought to video her strangeness. Anyways, what are the possible side-effects of oral ingestion of Lantus? Anyone ever had a cat that did that?? If I thought it was a true furshot, I get a wet rag and try to clean her...but I swear I couldn't find anything. :?

She's been fine (or seemingly fine) the rest of the evening...mostly napping and eating her snacks. I hope it was just a wild hair!

Her numbers are already rising, so I'll be headed to bed before her +5. Today was a doozy and I blame it all on sleep deprivation. :cry:

May have been some lantus residue on the needle, never heard of ANY side effect from licking lantus, or Moonie would have been screwed up by now :lol: :lol: All my fur shots & still she thrives :mrgreen:

I agree with Roni. Sometimes when you re dialing in the dose, the insulin slides down the side of the syringe. We
Hen you give the shot, it gets on the cat.

Gracie usually licks her injection site, too. It might taste bitter but I don't think you have to worry ;-) Bad Deborah :lol: :lol: :lol:
