this was ~20 mins early. gave the 1.5u

I can check him @ +2 before I go to work.(if he'll let me- he's starting to get a bit annoyed at times) He'll have access to food when I'm gone.

Well, he was having none of that +2 testing, so I let him be and went to work. :YMSIGH:

Anyways, his +7 = 161 and he had finished the food I left out for him this morning. He ate a few treats and a little chic now, but that's all.

So......I'm likin the #'s, but his attitude about a few things is starting to get a bit fractious.

Love the blue too, sorry he is being fractious. Maybe he thinks you are being to forward since you two haven't know each other that long  .

I am sure you have cuddle sessions where you do all the ear rubs and such without poking so he doesn't think every time you pet him he will get a sharp poke somewhere.

I think the resistance to testing happens in phases - meaning he will probably settle down again, at least for a while. It like a testing of you to see if he can be the boss and make you stop. I used to tell both of mine, "You might as well relax because you aren't going to win this one. I HAVE to test you and you HAVE to have insulin".

As for the PS variance, I would just chock it up to him still getting used to the insulin and dose. He is still settling on it. Some cats need more settle time than the 3-5 days you see posted a lot. Jeddie needed up to two weeks, I think.

Just don't know.......he's getting pretty nasty, but it seems like it's only @ nite- maybe cause his #'s are higher confused_cat

I've been going in to just pet him and he went from rubbing on me to hissing. He's already bitten me once, badly. He scares me and I don't trust him. Right now, I think he's mad because I won't let him out into the rest of the house......can't. He attacked my civvie last nite after he got mad @me for trying to get him up so I could put him in his rooms.

I feel bad for him, but I can't let him out anymore.

Another thought- maybe he's a mans cat, I mean the couple that found him, the guy loved Dante and he really bonded with him. He has never hissed @ my son either- told him I was gonna teach him how to test him & give him his shots, lol.

Looking into either Rescue Remedy or Feliway or both.

Oh dear. That is not good, but he is probably just reacting to the changes in his life. He was not being tested before, right? He has a new home, new routines, its all scary for him.

Things were rough with Jeddie in the beginning. Bad bite on my hand. I could not test him for a few days and then only by wrapping him in a blanket and wearing leather gloves. I really can't remember how long that lasted.

How long has it been since you got him? It might be better for him in a smaller space, even if he thinks differently. I would suggest the Feliway diffuser, although I have not used it - that's just from what I have read here. I might consider using prozac for a while. I have not seen anyone post about using it for this issue, but I have used it for other things and it works well on an anxious cat. I would try other things first, like Feliway, but I would keep it in mind.

Are you giving him treats after testing? I think that was what turned Jeddie around eventually.
