Re: 9/25 Michael amps 234

Nice amps, I due believe Michael will be in blue today. Charlie has already changed suits 3 times this morning, yellow, blue, and now green.

Re: 9/25 Michael amps 234

Charlie's green suit is the best! He looks very handsome! Hope he decides to stay with green!
Charlie enjoy the lagoon! Great job! Darin

Re: 9/25 Michael amps 234 IMPORTANT QUESTION?

For those of you who are using Relion gluclose meters, When you post on your SS do you add the 35% to the #'s since the Human meter is 30-40% lower than the Pet meter or use the original #'s that you got with the Human meter :?:
Thanks,
Paula

Re: 9/25 Michael amps 234 IMPORTANT QUESTION?

Just record the actual numbers you see on your meter on your spreadsheet. No need to do any calculations. Since we know you're using a human meter, we automatically "read" your ss with those numbers in mind.

Nice start for Michael today! :-D

Re: 9/25 Michael amps 234 +5.5 125 IMPORTANT QUESTION?

Thanks, Shelly
You read the SS with what #'s in mind. The #'s from the Human Meter :?:
Juste tested. amps +5.5 125. Michael decided to wear his "Dress Blues"

Re: 9/25 Michael amps 234 IMPORTANT QUESTION?

Exactly. When I open your spreadsheet, I know you're using the Relion. Thus, I'm looking for numbers between 50 to 120 because that's the "normal" or healing range for cats....and I'm looking for numbers under 50 because that's an indicator (for newly diagnosed cats) that the insulin needs to be reduced.

If you were using an AlphaTrak, on the other hand, I would look at your spreadsheet with a different range of numbers in mind (e.g., under 68 in that case would mean a reduction).

So....you don't need to do any calculations on your part. You just have to let people know what type of meter you're using so that people know how to "read" the numbers. Does that make sense? (Sometimes I confuse even myself. )

Glad Michael decided to put on the blue dress, even if dresses are usually reserved for girls. ;-)

Silly Shelly! Paula said Michael was wearing his "dress blues", not his "blue dress"!!   I'm guessing you have no military members in your family?

I think there are more people on the Board that use human meters than not - mainly because the strips are much cheaper and easier to buy. I've noticed the advice givers always tell Alpha Trak users to be sure they have that in big letter in their signature so everyone knows their numbers are different. I use a Contour - mainly because it was given to me by the person that referred me to the Board.

Michael is looking wonderful today, Paula. Keep up the good work. :-D

Dress blues, blue dresses. They're close, right? It wasn't me who did it, though. Jersey hijacked the keyboard. It's her fault. You all know she is an evil cat.

Okay.....so this is a clear and obvious sign that I need more sleep, more coffee, and to go back to preschool and learn how to read properly.

Sorry if I insulted you, Michael. You look very good in "dress blues" - and probably "blue dresses," too. ;-)

Re: 9/25 Michael amps 234 + 5.5 125 IMPORTANT QUESTION?

Shelly & Tricia Thanks for the replies. You guys are too funny. Even Michael was laughing
Tricia cute pic of your cat with the hat :!:
Shelly Jersey looks so much like my martin (who is playing on the rainbow bridge) that I have to take a second look. (Martin was Michael's brother, litter-mate, companion, and best friend. Michael & I miss him very much)
Jersey is a very pretty cat who has a very pretty name.

Re: 9/25 Michael amps 234 + 5.5 125 pmps 299

I guess Michael got board. Could you keep an eye on this bounce and let me know when it clears :?:
Since this is a bounce do I need to test @ bedtime :?:
Thanks, much appreciated
Paula

Re: 9/25 Michael amps 234 + 5.5 125 pmps 299

I can't give you an unbiased answer, since I am a test fanatic. If I see a pmps/amps that I believe is a bounce number I will at least get a +3 to confirm the bounce. I look at testing that if you are able to test why not. I am a data junkie.

Thanks. The reason I asked, was i thought I read that when charlie bounced it gave you a chance to sleep and not test. Maybe I misunderstood.
I did test @ pmps +2.5 337 M's are climbing. Don't understand why this is happening. I thought #'s go down at night, but then ECID.
Have a good night,
Paula I-)

Yes but I still get a confirmation test. And now that charlie is clearing bounces faster, I really need the confirmation test.
I see it as the bounce is still rising. During a bounce I Dont see very much movement in numbers, the are high and flat. And with the +/- meter variance your pmps/ +2.25 are similar numbers.
Not sure what you mean by #'s go down at night.

I thought the #'s go lower during the night. (ex. 334 to 275) ECID
