Mama-tired.

Insulin clarification: After way to long of reds and pinks, gurus here suggested he go up 0.25 or even 0.5. Well, my impatience pants got the best of me and I shot the balance of the dose increase at +1. To compensate for a partially late dose, I had PLANNED to shoot late last evening by 30 minutes and work back to his normal shoot time. I FORGOT this plan. In fact, I shot 15 minute EARLY so I could stay as long as possible this morning to catch the start of his nadir before going to work. So, his dosing the last 24 hours has been, ahh, a little unconventional.

Leo, his majesty the Little Fartness, was ready to be fed this morning. Despite the 14,000 fresh chicken snacks he got with all his poking last night. Even he, Mr. Mellow Ear Test, was getting tired of it all. He was putting his paw up to push my hand and the warm sock off his ear. It was so cute but so sad too. Mommmeeeeee, no more sockkkkkk. He's ensconced on The Chair.

Yesterday afternoon I was doing the Happy Dance with YELLOWS! YAY! But got a little bug-eyed at the blues (oh no, this means a bounce, doesn't it?)...and then a long night of nice surfing greens, but mama-paranoid about <50 and a dose reduction (which we DO NOT WANT) after trying so hard to get back up to a dose that actually DOES anything. Turns out he did spectacularly, but I am seriously zoning. Testing every darned hour. My alarm clock is a rooster crowing. The rooster has been killed, dressed and is stewing on the stove for dinner.

You know when you're so tired you do stupid stuff? About 4am, I got a lancet and twisted the little cap off and threw it in the sharps container. Then when gathering the testing stuff, saw the little cap on the counter. Sigh. I'd thrown the actual lancet into the container. So, yawn, I grabbed another lancet and twisted off the top with my OTHER hand, and proceeded to throw the lancet away with my OTHER hand. Three lancets for 1 BG test.

Thanks to Marje and Jane, Sienne, Dyana, Carl...too bad Marje wasn't here this morning to shout "SHOOOOOOOT!". Sienne beat her to it for Alexa and Reuben last night and I know she was bummed :-D

Leo is bouncing off the walls right now, eviscerating on his mousie (he plays to WIN). I'm ~O) ~O) ~O) .

More later. I'm sure we're in for BOUNCIE BOUNCIE BOUNCIE! Would be nice to keep it to pinks and not hit the rockin' reds.

Re: 9/25 Leo AMPS 127 +2 198

wow what a super green surf Leo had last night   and so far a nice blue start hoping he does not give you much of a bounce today ;-)

Re: 9/25 Leo AMPS 127 +2 198

Thanks Lisa,

I just looked at Do Lou's profile - he is GORGEOUS! What a great picture!

Yes, Leo did wonderfully ... best cycle he's ever had. If only this is the way life could be all the time! (Well, except for the lack-of-sleep part!)

Re: 9/25 Leo AMPS 127 +2 198 +4 231 +5 175

+5 175

Oh boy. I was hoping he'd bounce a little higher so I could go to work! He's coming down at a good pace.

Well, I have to leave now, so I will leave out a little food. I will be gone until +10 or +11.

His last meal was +3/+4. I think I will leave him with 1/4 can of MC. He will probably eat is right away. Reasonable?

me thinks you need ~O) ~O) ~O)
last night Leo did good , you did good... and reductions are good.
Hope you survive the day....

Don't take any wooden nickels !?

Re: 9/25 Leo AMPS 127 +2 198 +4 231 +5 175

I hope you come home to a nice blue number. Maybe Leo will like this dose and surf nicely for you.

Re: 9/25 Leo AMPS 127 +2 198 +4 231 +5 175

Hi Rhiannon - I'm doing ok. No nickels, but already popped a couple chocolate covered espresso beans! Beans for the bean! Oh, I crack myself up.

Hi Carla - I hope you are right! He has me all nervous. I gave him 1/4 can of 7% before I left and he woofed it down. I hope we find a dose we can stay at for longer than 6 or 8 cycles, and actually mellow out for a while without beating the daylights out of his organs with the pinks and reds.

Re: 9/25 Leo AMPS 127 +2 198 +4 231 +5 175 PMPS 367 BOING!

HA! That little "insurance policy" I put out before I left for work (1/4 can 7% at +5.5) was CLEARLY unnecessary, as Leo flew right along his regular road to post-green BOUNCIE BOUNCIE.

Well at least I PROBABLY won't be up all night again
