I am so discouraged. Now Cedric doesn't want to eat. He seems back to his normal self so the Buprenorphine has finally worn off. I am not sure if he didn't want to eat because of the pancreazyme powder in his food? The vet's office said to give it to him if he tolerates it. he was drinking a bit of water today, and I decided to give him some fluids. I believe he got at least 75ml. Left him with an ice cube in the remains of his breakfast, 2 small snacks (about 1 teaspoon each) for today in the feeder. I think he is going to need to go up to 4.5 units tonight, I don't know what else to do but keep giving him more insulin.

I start the 5am shift on Sunday at work (and again next Saturday), so I have made plans with the pet sitter for her to come no later than 7am to give him his insulin, etc. I thought this might be better than trying to change him to 4am, since I cannot upkeep a 4am/4pm time for the rest of the year (don't get home from f/t job until about 5:30 during the week). So I am paying someone - I'm not a bad mom, right?

IMHO I think you did the best thing for Cedric, he'll still be on a steady schedule, which they need. As i understand it, irregular shot times are hard on them.

When I called the vet's office this am to ask if they meant for me to discontinue Dallas' antibiotic the answer was no. I don't understand why he's on it when he had no teeth pulled and there is no infection? Precaution of some kind? It is possible that this is what was keeping him from eating on sunday & yesterday.

Haven't gotten an answer on the pancreazyme powder from them yet - not sure if this was why Cedric wouldn't eat this morning. I think I will post on health...

Vet's office is telling me I can discontinue both the Denamarin and the powder. My remark was that I just paid quite a bit for these meds....I am going to keep trying to find out what is bothering Cedric - maybe the 2 pills once a day is too much and it should either be one pill twice a day (as the manufacturer recomends) or just one pill once per day. Is it the powder maybe? I will keep trying to see what the issue is.

with Dallas, the biomox is because of his ALT values - the denamarin is for that as well, but the vet gave Dallas the bigger pill which he's been taking for nearly a week now (was told to skip it last night). I think his problem is with the antibotic and not the denamarin, but I am not 100% sure - will have to play with that as well.
