A blue amps! Encouraging! Still shot .2u. Maybe she'll get to the party after all! She went outside this morning and ate grass. I thought this a good sign, until she came in and promptly puked it up. But, she ate some turkey, came over to me, laid down and purred, then went back for another bite. Heading to LB right now I think. Bupe due in 20 mins.

+1 done with ReliOn meter - 81 so guessing around 135 on AT. I'll get a +2 with both meters. Skipped the bupe so far today, as she really seems to be feeling much better. Thinking it may have been the Clavimox more than anything else making her feel crummy. Still hasn't eaten much tho, so will stay on top of testing. She's very lovey this morning, has bathed a few times already, purred and rolled around for petting, and is eyeing the drooler like she'd like to throw a punch or two at him. These are all good signs!

I hope she's feeling better. It is so hard to watch our little loved ones be in pain. And Muffin is such a sweetie. I would barely be able to stand it.

+2 86, 60 on ReliOn meter. Busted out the Fortiflora, but she still won't eat, and she's dropping fast. Should I syringe some gravy or baby food or something into her? She also headed back into the closet, so I gave the Bupe.

+3 was 59 with Relion, so basically the same as +2. She's still feeling a little crummy, but for the last hour was happily snoozing away on the desk. She's not at all into the continued testing, I'm having to fetch her each time, which is not like her. Afterwards, she slinks off under the dresser. I guess I'll wait a couple more hours to see if she'll eat on her own since she's not dropping now - it's only been about 12 hours, and that should still be ok, shouldn't it?

+6 86 / 60 (relion) Still no food, still hiding in closet, still waiting on return call from vet. Other than that, it's a nice steady surf in great numbers. :YMSIGH:

+7 no test, force fed about 1 1/2 tsps turkey baby food. I'd really love to call it assisted feeding, but, no, it was definitely force fed. Figured I'd better do it now to give her time to puke it up before vet closes. Hopefully she'll keep it down and it will stimulate her little tummy into wanting dinner.

I wouldn't stop the bupe. If her stomach is off from the Clavamox or whatever reason, think Pepsid, especially if she seems nauseated (1/4 tab of Pepsid AC).

Thanks Sienne - I did give bupe this morning, and she's due...err overdue for another dose now. I went out and got Pepcid and vet gave me Cypro. So my question is...should I try one or the other first? Give them both? Deonsyl is due in an hour to an hour and a half, and needs to be on empty stomach. If I give both, do I give at same time or how long to wait in between? Give pepcid now, then denosyl when it's due and at shot time if she doesn't eat give cypro? And what dose should I shoot tonight since she hasn't eaten much today?

Any advice is appreciated!

ETA: She is out of hiding at the moment, and being very affectionate, but still won't eat.

come on, Muffin, eat good for us...

I don't know the answer to your med timing questions, sorry. Cypro works pretty fast, I think, so I would probably give that right before you want her to eat. I think most people give pepcid a little before feeding too. I don't know if there is any reason why you cannot give all three together, since I haven't used them all.

Thanks Libby. Maybe I'll go ahead and give the Denosyl now with some pepcid and see if that helps. She's playing with an empty fortiflora packet right now :lol:

Feel better Muffin! Sorry Anne, I can't answer the question, I've never had to deal with any of that. Good luck, we all hope she gets better soon.

I don't know about the Denosyl. I've never used it. When Gabby was taking Pepsid and Cypro, I gave them together -- but no one told me I couldn't.

You could always call your pharmacy and ask a pharmacist. They are human meds so they would be familiar with how they should be taken.

Hi Anne. Sorry poor little Muffin still isn't feeling well. When Tori is having a flare I always give the Pepcid before she eats and the rest of her meds with the meal. I sure hope she settles down for you soon. I'd really continue the Bupe. Pain causes nausea and nausea makes pain worse. It' s a real vicious circle. If she doesn't start eating for you I think I'd be prone to taking her back in tomorrow. She may need more squids. Take care.

Thanks Michelle, Sienne and Pat. As I was cutting the Pepcid, she ate 3 pieces of kibble, but then quit. I just gave her the Denosyl and pepcid and she is working on a slice of turkey now. Oops - I guess I should make her wait a half hour cause the denosyl. ohmygod_smile Umm..I was just going to pick it up, and it's already gone! Oh well, nothing else for a half hour then. If pmps is food influenced, so be it, i'm more concerned that she eat. I'll hold off on the cypro, looks likes she might not need it tonight after all.

She's out the door again, back to the party. She is looking lovely in her dress, that was nice of binks to pick that out for her.

Just saw your post, Barb. I'll keep on the bupe for the next couple days at least then. Good reminder about squids, too, thank you.

Hope Muffin feels better soon - I know how frustrating it is when they won't eat...

Just FYI: For Kasha, the cypro takes a good 2 hours to really kick in. She may eat a little before then, but it's usually about 2 hours before I see any really good eating action. And I have given her the pepcid and cypro at the same time. I'm considering giving some pepcid with her +9 snack tonight to see if it helps her feel better at breakfast time.

Muffin, you look so beautiful tonight and I hope that you are feeling better, too. I'm glad you could come to the party. Tomorrow will be a good day and you'll be eating all the foods you enjoy. (If there's something at the buffet that you really like but can't eat tonight, let me know and I'll make you up a "kitty bag".)

Frustrating trying to compare these meters. pmps 102 on AT, but 64 on Relion. Earlier, 60 on relion was 86 on AT. So who knows what the afternoon numbers really were? She ate I'd say 1 1/4 slices of turkey for dinner so far, picked the rest up for now, cause all the kitties are in and I want to make sure I know how much SHE is eating. And I'm in the other room watching CSI.
Thanks so much Binks - you're such a sweetheart! Stu - so kind of you to offer. I nibbled a little of everything and it was all sooo yummy! If there are leftovers, I'd love a kitty bag for when I'm feeling better and can eat more. You two both looked stunningly handsome tonight too! - Muffin
 
+2 taken with Relion meter is 89. She's finished her dinner! I didn't even need the cypro! I made her eat a little at a time so no scarf and barf. Hope she keeps it down.
 
Great job, Muffin! So sorry you've been having such a hard time today and not wanting to eat. Glad you didn't have to take the
cypro but maybe when you get your next dose of bupe, you'll feel much better.

I really empathize with you Anne...it's so hard if they don't feel like eating. Have you ever tried to assist feed her just to see
if that would get her going on her own? We really hope tomorrow is a better day for you both.
 
I'm glad that Muffin has finally felt like eating. I know how frustrating it can be. As Barb said , with all the meds it's a vicious cycle. Take care, I hope she feels better tomorrow.
