9/23 Minky AMPS: 311, 249@+5, PMPS: 417, 346@3.5, ketones=.1

I put it in the last column. It should show up.
No It's not there you did the ketone test in 9-23 correct so it will go there in the remarks section for that date

I was going to but she was so sad and I felt like I had done so much to her the day before. She is .1 this morning which I think is really good?

So this was on 9-23 correct

Yep, I see it wasn't there. I had to download Google Sheets to make the change. It should be good now.

Yay for low ketones @Sheila and Minky . Methos & I send positive thoughts your way :bighug:! Fwiw Methos also seemed down last night after two days of scaring me with high then low BG…while some of it may be he’s so tired of me either washing or sticking his ears, I think some of it was he was exhausted between me waking him every hour to test and feed, and probably he felt out of sorts from his blood sugar roller coaster. And that’s not even including potential tummy upset from all the junk food I fed him. I hope Minky feels better soon and you get some rest.

Thank you *hug* I think Miss Mink was upset from the roller coaster too. Our poor babies. We are trying but when they can't speak sometimes it is just tough. Hopefully the next few days will be better.

Methos had huge polydactyl paws. The other night I was looking at him and my watch wondering if it was time to test yet and crying and praying for a number neither too high nor too low. He covered his eyes with one paw (probably thinking ‘turn out the lights I can’t sleep’) then he reached his other over to my hand. Even if they don’t understand I think they forgive.

Hi Sheila,
Looking at the SS I can see you are changing the dose all the time. Remember the dose is based on how low the dose takes Minky, not the pre shot.
If you are too anxious about giving the 2.25 unit, then give 2 units, but be consistent. Don’t chop and change.
But if you do go to 2 unit, make sure you test every day for ketones and put it in the SS please. And make sure Minky is eating very well.

If I give 2, she doesn't all respond and is sky high. If I give 2.25 she responds but seems to be going low. When I'm at work and coming home to check this is nerve-wracking. I don't really understand how .25 makes that kind of difference. I need her to come down but not to be at this kind of low. :'( And she isn't always eating well with the lower carb food.

@Bron and Sheba (GA)

You need to have a dose that you can shoot both am and pm cycles. And you need a dose that keeps the ketones away.
Are you saying she is not eating properly with the low carb food? What does she like to eat.? At the moment she needs to be eating 1and a half times as many calories as she normally does? How much do you think she is eating each day?
Some of those high numbers are from bouncing not lack of insulin

She loves the FF mixed seafood in gravy, but that makes her go a lot higher. Most days she will eat Temptations Seafood Medley. But there have been days where she just doesn't want the Temptations.

Will she eat a lower carb food mixed in with her favorite food, maybe mostly favorite to start then gradually alter ratio? That’s worked for most of my cats when changing brands, although Tammuz is steadfast in eating around the new mixed in food.

I don't think she will like them mixed together. But maybe. It is a good idea though.

I’m not expert and it may just create another cat addict but fortiflora is an overpriced probiotic you can buy at pet stores and chewy among other places. I’ve heard the probiotic isn’t very robust or useful. I have no idea if it has carbs. But it does have an “appetite stimulant” which is the flavor they use that my boys are crazy over. When they lose their appetite, or I’m trying to wean them off fish flavors they got when sick and back onto chicken, they can’t resist a little fortiflora sprinkled on it (I don’t stir in the packet i just use a 1/16 tsp to pick up a very tiny bit and sprinkle on top)—I’ve read somewhere the appetite stimulant is just the same stuff they put on kibble. Maybe a dusting of fortiflora (if advisors here or your vet ok’s) will ensure interest in the healthier stuff.

the only problem I’ve run into is even though they’ve gotten over their stomach issue it takes a long time to wean them down/off the fortiflora. Muz always needs a little, Methos had been off it but after the MC food I fed a few days ago he now won’t eat without it

I will keep this in mind. Maybe this might be helpful. She, most days, eats decently. I am worried about adding something that they might not be able to get off.
