Happy Friday Afternoon Lantus Land!!! We're hoping Julie, DH, Punkin, and Anya get home safe and sound today and send healing vines to all those who need them.

Gracie .....well...the lev is .....never mind...I don't want to jinx us.....just check out her SS :-D :-D :-D She is usually onsetting between +5-+6 and then coming down into her PS. In our condo last night, Jill indicated that we could bring her up .1u to try and get into greens but suggested we wait until after we get through all the other civvie issues and I am taking that suggestion to heart. In the meantime, her numbers have been safe enough to leave her at this dose for a bit longer. Then we can try and pull them down a tad.

Updates on civvies:
Tobey: doing spectacular. He said it was all the cinnamon cake and cupcakes (thanks to Christie and Ella).

Gus: back to the vet this morning; when I woke up, he had all this gunk that had come out of his mouth...clear with a tinge of blood. They managed to get his mouth open more today and his extraction sites look great so it's his chin which was really traumatized and is very swollen and painful. I'm injecting his bupe because it hurts him to even try to put it on his gums. He is eating. They gave him a shot of dexamethazone to try and get the swelling and inflammation down; with his kidneys as they are, they did not want to give NSAIDs.

Teddi: still not eating....I syringed her all day yesterday. No vomiting and she had a lovely poo last night but I could tell she just seems to be in pain. So I started giving her bupe. She's also on pepcid ac and ondansetron. And then it was like   ...I bet she has some mild pancreatitis. SO I took her to the vet (where we were from 9:30 am until 12:45 pm today). They wanted to do a sPLI but I had syringe fed her this morning before the thought hit me but the vet thinks I'm on target. They did a Super chem just to be sure what her kidneys/liver are doing; she upped the dose of bupe. Teddi actually ate a tiny bit on her own when we got home.

So....that's the report from the Gracieland Infirmary. Laura and I are going to go out now and have high tea at a lovely tea shoppe. I feel horrible that I was gone all morning but kitters come first....and Laura slept. She was exhausted...single mom of two boys and she goes 90 miles/min every day.

Please know you all are in our thoughts and I miss you BIG TIME and staying up with your darling sugarbabies. Have a great day....lots of love and hugs.

Re: 9/23 Gracie AMPS 142 +4 158

Not sayin' nuttin', but the Lev sured does give breathing room for bouncy kitters.

I hope you have a lovely tea, and the kits let you have a nice visit.

Wow you've got a lot going on! Hang in there- Gracie is looking great! Enjoy Tea :-D

Re: 9/23 Gracie AMPS 142 +4 158

Hi Marje, so glad Gracie is doing so well on the Lev. Sending vines and prayers for your sweet Gus and his jaw issues and vines and prayers for Teddi. Enjoy your tea with Laura today.

Re: 9/23 Gracie AMPS 142 +4 158

Just catching up on your condo. Yikes, poor Gus and Teddi! The Dex is a big gun steroid, so hopefully that will help with the inflammation.

Your Bupe was dispensed in the original sterile vial suitable for injection, right? Just asking because someone on the board used to point out that some vets dispense Bupe having transferred a smaller amount to a container for oral administration, which does not necessarily maintain the required sterility. You have been running the infirmary for a while, so I am sure that you are on top of that.

Sending lots of healing vines for the whole gang!

Wow. You have got a lot going on. Poor guys! Glad Gracie is doing well and giving you a chance to take care of the others. How great that you got out for tea!

Hope you have a great evening!

Re: 9/23 Gracie AMPS 142 +4 158

Hi Marje,
So sorry to hear that Gus and Teddi are requiring heavy-duty care. We are sending lots of healing vines for them. Glad to hear that Tobey is fine. And Gracie is looking good. I hope that all will go well with the medication for Gus and Teddi and that they (and you) will get some good sleep tonight.

Please tell Gracie and Tobey that Rusty will pick them up in the bus for the Equinox party tonight. I've packed a cinnamon cake for Rusty to transport to the mystery localle.

Ella

Hey Gracie and Tobey: wear your hiking boots. We're off on an Equinox adventure tonight!

Re: 9/23 Gracie AMPS 142 +4 158

I'm with Ella... maybe all Gus and Teddi need is some cinammon cake! packing some minis with Willie just in case. :-D :-D :-D Cuddles and scritches to your poor, sweet babies. Thoughts and prayers for quick healing.

Lovely blues!!! Fingers and paws crossed for continued great numbers with a bit of green.

Hope your visit continues to be wonderful!

Re: 9/23 Gracie AMPS 142 +4 158

Hope you enjoyed a lovely cuppa! Its great to see Gracie so, dare I type it, level... ;-)

How did you decide to move from Lantus to Lemivir? Zener is quite bouncy too, but he has only been on the Lantus for 4 months and his dose has decreased, in between bounces!

Hope you all have a nice weekend at the infirmary. ;-)

Re: 9/23 Gracie AMPS 142 +4 158

I've been out of touch a bit for the past few days. I didn't realize things were going so crazy for you right now. My business partner's hubby is on dex once a week for multiple myeloma. Apparently it gives him quite a bit of energy! I hope it's helping Gus...but calmly!

You guys are all in my thoughts and prayers - I hope everyone is feeling better ASAP!

Thank you all, our wonderful friends, for visiting and sending healing vines and thoughts. It means so much. Laura and I had a nice time at tea; Gracie gave us permission but I didn't need THIS much permission! I know 100% that I didn't do a fur shot so I don't know why she's bouncing. I gave her a dosecrease tonight. If I increased by .1u, that would put us 1.25u since my f1u was just a tiny bit less than my 1.25u....in fact, I should probably call the f1u a sk1.25u but trying to maintain consistency from way back when. I hope the increase will bring the overall curve down without jeopardizing the flat.

Gus seems to be doing better tonight. He ate three helpings of food on his own and seems more comfy; he's not hiding in the closet anymore. Teddi also seems better....I'm still syringe feeding her but she seems interested in food and will eat about half what I put on her plate. So progress.

So hard to not check in on you all but I want to maximize my time with Laura. I started to visit last night while she was asleep but couldn't keep my eyes open.

Have a wonderful evening. You all will probably be in bed by the time I check Gracie again. Ni Ni.
