Good afternoon!!

Hope all the kitties and their beans have a great day!

So is it possible that Beenie's high numbers are due to her traumatic vet trip yesterday? I see a blue coming today before PMPS but she definitely went high when I tested her after the vet visit yesterday. That was hours after mind you. Anyhoo I couldn't get her eye drops in this morning :(. Hopefully I'll have better luck tomorrow. Pet sitter tonight again and she's able to. LOVE HER. I have her in my contacts at vet tech extraordinaire:p

Poor Beenie, I just read yesterday's condo. Glad to see she's coming back down, I see blues in Beanie's future too
It was awful but my wonderful vet told me he'll come to the house from now on for her:). He's so awesome. Funny, now when we go he asks what dose are we at now and just enters the info into the computer so he can keep track of her insulin needs. We actually spent about 15 min just talking about her and my goal. I told him I just want to keep her regulated and comfortable. She seems happiest in the high blue range. I'll try for greens and see if she gets used to those numbers but if not I'm not forcing it. Whenever she's in the green range she seems miserable. Remission doesn't seem at all likely so I just want her to be happy. I think about it often now, if ECID, perhaps some do better in higher numbers but still under the renal threshold??

I think you have a terrific attitude! I agree wholeheartedly, right now the goal is to keep her under renal threshold, and where she is ultimately happy. Remission may come, or not, but you are doing such a great job for Beenie, and that's all that matters :)

Teasel seems happier when he's in blues. He's significantly more lethargic in greens and I'm not convinced that in his case it's from not being in greens a lot. He's much perkier in the 120 to 150 range. I don't force the greens either. Now, it's possible this could change on Lev if his BGs aren't so up and down. The big spikes are hard on him too.

Maury also seems to feel at his best in blues or low yellows. We had a bit of a bounce over a week ago and that noticeably made him feel icky :(. Remission isn't in my mind anymore either, so also just want him to be happy and feel as good as he can

. Your Vet sounds very nice too!

How wonderful that you have a great cat sitter and a vet who will make house calls and supports you on what you're doing! That's great...

It's interesting to read so many people say their cats seem happier in the blues. Girlie is also noticeably happier in blues: yesterday, even though it was close to 100 degrees (and it's supposed to be Spring here - sigh!), she was alert and happy. I assumed that she wasn't as happy in greens as she wasn't used to them yet, but maybe that's not so. Who knows!

But you're right: the point is to have a stable, happy, healthy cat. :-)

Neko started out happiest in low pink. Then it became blues, then as she spent more time in green, she felt comfy there too. She often started seeking laps in green. Speaking of which, looks like Beenie is bungling for more juice.

Great that your vet will do house calls. I liked when I got to the "what is the dose"" stage too.
