Re: 9/22 Klinger AMPS 421

I know this looks like exactly the same as yesterday, but the good news is that:

yesterday's amps was at +11,
today's 421 was at +12,

I'm thinking tonight PS may be better, because his AM rise was more complete when you shot this AM but who knows...

Since bg numbers on Prozinc frequently rise quickly near preshot, it is good that he lasted an extra hour before getting back to 421. Obviously the dose was higher last night (2.2u vs 3.4u) and that produced the extended coverage. I hate to say it but 3.5u may be the ideal dose, but let's give this another couple days and do a curve Friday. You don't have to get every hour if you don't want to but +2, +4, +5,5, +7, +8, +10, +11, +12 would be helpful. Those would give us an idea :
-how high the "food spike/insulin fade" goes at +2,
-catch the nadir between +4 through +8,
-get a feel for how fast it wears off +10 through +12.

see ya later- :-D

PMPS 435...not sure what happened today...
He came looking for me at shot time, so that's progress.
Will do another curve this weekend. I have a few errands to run on Friday to include picking up a new bottle of the juice.

Have faith! hang in there- I know it gets old. he didn't go black. It sounds like he was feeling perky at PS, which tells me he had a good day.

421 and 435 are basically the same (meters have an allowable variance which is like 10-20%)
Like you said -what we don't know is where he was in between. I'm betting yellows
It means he didn't go so low to bounce.
If he grazed in the 2 hrs before you tested it would have affected the number.

Would you like to try giving a FAT 3.4u tomorrow? or 3.5u, which would be the "space between" 8.5 and 9.0 on your u100 syringe. I'm fine with either one, (3.4u or 3.5u), so you decide based on what you see tomorrow AM. My crystal ball is cloudy tonight

 I didn't know that you have a crystal ball. Wow! Where can I get one. That would make things a lot easier! My magic 8 ball only tells me to "try again tomorrow". Maybe it's right!
I'll see what my eye's can do in the morning.
Quick question...I've seen other some posts on here where they give their kitties boiled chicken as a treat. I'm wondering if it's ok to give plain grilled chicken as a treat?

its fine, but avoid anything with onion or garlic seasoning, as I believe they are a bit toxic to dogs and cats.
Avoid milk products- they have lactose- a sugar
hard boiled egg is ok, yolk has vit D, but don't overdo because of fat. some think that too much fat leads to pancreatitis.
and I have a friend who uses the rotisserie chickens, but the unknown seasoning concerns me some- maybe lose the skin and rinse once.
I used to boil whole chickens or breasts on sale, blend or food process and freeze into mini muffin tins, then add to food to increase the protein, but it got too hard long term.

oh and I tried human canned salmon, because it was cheaper than the cat food salmon, but I think it was too rich and may have incited a pancreatitis flair. plus they add salt, which isn't great for his enlarged heart, so no more. and the freeze dried chix should be ok in a pinch, but is expensive, (and i always wondered if it affected numbers...)
