Morning ~O) ~O) not sure what happened here as I didn't do a fur shot! :? Kind of in a hurry, so I didn't post yesterday's numbers. Great news today! :-D Maggie had a nice, healthy poo. There is a definite change on the day she delivers! I'm an early to bed person, as I'm up way too early. Maggie came in to wake me up at 10:30 pm very loudly. I picked her up, and she purred and cuddled for the longest time in bed. Then she woke me up again at 12:30, and I just decided to get up. It wasn't until later when I had coffee that I noticed the one box had a small covered up pile, and it was her poo! With the Megacolon, she goes every other day which is good.
Today at 8 am I get the fluids and also a mini lesson from one of the Vet Techs. I did fluids four years ago on mu Siamese kitty and had some difficulty, as he did not always cooperate. I'll also have Marje's fluids video! I think Mags will be okay.

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O)

YAY on the prezzie! it sounds like you have got this well under control. it is really good that she is making these deposits on a regular basis. WOO HOO!

Good luck with your fluids lesson. I hope Maggie will do OK with it. I think she will do OK too, judging from all you have written about her. She seems very cooperative - alwyas a plus.

Love the cuddle story - how nice was that! I so wish Mannie wold... Elsa foes, but not Mannie.

Hoping for blue numbers for you today Maggie - you can do it!

Enjoy your day today Ann.

Good morning Ann!

Yay on the prezzie! That was so sweet of her. She must have been trying to tell you about it. I can't believe you got up so early.

Thinking of you today as you learn the fluids process. You will be a pro at it in no time.

Have a great day!!

Re: 9/21 Maggie AMPS 242; +3 252

Hi guys .. great news on the prezzie! She must have wanted to show you it real bad to wake you up at that time .. I don't think I'd have the heart to tell sweet maggie looking at her poo could wait till morning  Good luck with the fluids, I am sure you'll do fine! have a great weekend!

Re: 9/21 Maggie AMPS 242; +3 252

Woohoo on prezzie day!!! It's very awesome that prezzies are becomming predictable now!

Sending you guys many good vetty/fluids vines. I'm sure Maggie will be as sweet as sugar, both at the vet and at home!

Have a great day!!!

Re: 9/21 Maggie AMPS 242; +3 252

YAY POO!!!!!!! It's such a relief when you get their schedule figured out. Of course then they change it! You'll do fine on the fluids, just like the tests, give a treat or do something she love afterwards so she looks forward to it.

Re: 9/21 Maggie AMPS 242; +3 252

So good to hear that Maggie is finding a rhythm with the LB.
Hope the fluids lesson goes well and Maggie feels better. Always something new to learn around here.

Slide down, Maggie.
We all want you to feel better.

PMPS 181

Only one blue and it's the PMPS! Very strange cycle today as I felt sure I didn't do a furbie! :? I think Mags may need to go up a drop at the end of the 6th cycle.

Wow, thanks to Michelle, Melissa, Devon, Amy, Rhiannon. Lisa & Do Lou and Ann & Tess on the visits and good vines with the fluids. And yay for prezzies. It was so funny with the wake up call this morning, and I think definitely that Mags wanted to show me she delivered after putting up with all of her Bean's syringing, sneaking in Miralax in her treats and on and on. She did the same thing last time with the wake up call. It didn't dawn on me to get up and check.
I was so tired today, I wonder why with getting up so early. I finally had to lay down. I actually just had a demo with the fluids and have not given them yet, as the needle looks like a harpoon. It's an 18" needle. I want to see if I could get a smaller needle. I may try it with the larger needle and see how it goes tomorrow. I've heard these are called harpoons, but the fluid goes in faster. If that's what I used on my GA kitty, it may have been the reason he resisted.

ETA: I just ordered some 22" needles from the Vet. This should be more comfy for Maggie.

Detective Poo is very pleased with your delivery, Mags. Well done! Now be patient with your bean and this new thing. You will get a nice treat after she is done.
Liz

Nice on the prezzie from Maggie. So cute she wanted to tell you about it. Good luck when you start the fluids.

Woohoo its POO day  Can you believe a group of people would get so excited about poop?

What's up with these numbers Maggie? They aren't your usual blues and greens.

I hear ya on the size of those subq needles, they are huge!!! I also ended up getting some 22 gauge needles because the 18 were just too darn big. Leo didn't mind them at all, when i put the needle in he flinched and gave a little meow, i followed Marje and Gus' video and it was soooo easy! You'll be a pro at it in no time. :-D

I can't believe you got up at 12:30, i was just getting ready for bed at 12:30 last night!

Have a great evening Ann and Mags.

Back to some blues!

Hi Liz, aka Detective Poo, I thought you would be proud! Yes, definitely a treat will be served after the fluids.

Hi Carla, thanks on the visit and the prezzies. :-D

Hi Tracy, I know it is so funny with getting excited over poop. I didn't realize you are also giving fluids to Leo. Yes, the 18's are harpoons. I will pick up some 22's tomorrow at Vetty.

Anne & Zener :-D I just showed Maggie her Golden Poo Award and she is so excited! Mags says cake and champagne for everyone tonight! :-D
That's awesome, thanks!

HI Ann one thing about needle size for SQ is you can always change if one does not work out its just a matter of how fast you need to go if Maggie is really good for you I am sure the smaller needle will be just fine

Hi Lisa and thanks! Yes, I'll keep the 18" and try the 22" first. Maggie's very easy going, but this will be something new. She likes to sit on my lap whenever she decides. Same with cuddles in bed.

One sweet loving darling kitty +one devoted, loving, caring, doting momma bean=Success with Magical Poo.
success with SQ treatments, leading to one well cared for loved kitty & loved Mom bean.
You two are such an inspiring duo, like Moonie & I, taking care of each other, in tune with each other..
Aint kitty love grand?? Hope the Fluids are as easy as Moonie's gel ear was for me--Love you both a lot :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: Hope tomorrow is a better day...

Ann

I am sorry to say this but the 22g are probably too small. I tried them with Gus and he was wonderful but it took about 15 mins to get the fluids in as opposed to about 5-6 with the 21g. And if you don't have a lot of experience with getting the needle positioned just right so it flows well, it could take longer.

If you haven't picked them up, I'd ask for a few 20g and a few 21g. You might have to start with the 20g together Maggie used to sitting still and once she's ok within, use the 21g.
