WOO HOO!!!! IT IS FRIDAY FURDAY! :-D :-D :-D I hope everyone had a great day yesterday. We did well here. The weather was SO NICE that I knew we had to make it an outdoor day for the boys, and what better place than on a river. It was sunny, and warm, and 75 here at home. There is something magical about sunlight on a river, one that is nested in the mountains, surrounded by vistas and trees and a very nice shoreline. The drive there was so great too, passing through several small towns. I evolved it! Here's what I wrote in last night's post about the day: "Hi everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. Nicholas and William and I had the best of times. We did go to the river, but not the salmon run part. Nicholas was so involved with where he was that I just couldn't see pulling him away from that, and well we also had some time restraints. We did the Skykomish River out of Gold Bar today, a small town on HWY 2. What a beautiful day there today, sunny and warm. The river is low right now, so lots of opportunities for the little guy to have fun in the water, wade out what he viewed as far. We only had a couple of "I can'ts" today, a relief. They seem to stem from missing his mom, having her home, now that she's gone back to work. He really liked having her home so she could come and see him do his stuff, in the pool, at the river, etc. All is OK, as he will adjust in time , and once again back to the old routine oh always saying "Let's go!" He one excited kid to be going to the river today. I asked him where he wanted to go, and out came "Jack's Pass!!!", which I would have done but not enough time to do that (it's a two hour drive) and meet erin at the house when she got there. so.... he settled for the sand and rocks of Big Eddy at Gold Bar (only an hours drive). It is a very good spot for him: easy river access, a gorgeous river, sandy shorelines, RR tracks that cross the river down stream, small rivulets, and tons of tossable rocks. On the way there he's calling out the towns as we go through them: "Monroe!" Sultan!" "Startup!" "Gold Bar!" Too funny: he knows then all. It was a non-stop commentary from the back seat. What a hoot. And then I got "Grammie! Look! There's a coffee place. You better get some!" oh HAHAHAHAHA. We spent the two hours we were there playing in the sand, tossing and retrieving sticks from the river, running barefoot in the puddles, watching the eagles fly. William slept through 2/3 of it. oh well, that's OK too. What a great day on the river." Picassa link: A Day on the Skykomish River...

Nicholas can sometimes really make life fun, amaze me in the process. Yesterday he got out a set of colored blocks and proceeded to build, or rather stacked, them into towers. His focus was so intent, strong, determined. It was fun to watch him build tall ones, and have them not fall over. Those got high fives. The ones that did fall over... well... we laughed and laughed and he built them again. Fun stuff: Construction RULES!

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!!   With such good weather Elsa was more than insistent that she spend the afternoon out on her deck, so I let her. She was a good girl, stayed there with only one yard excursion to make sure all was well, check the perimeter, and then back onto the deck. It's funny that she follows the same route that Mannie did. I wonder... perhaps he has asked her to make sure all is well in NannerVille, that small suburb of MannieLand. ;-) And Lola and bug.... oh well... time for extra marathon runs yesterday it seems. It was no stop.   I especially enjoy the 3AM ones. Yesterday Lola decided the easiest way to catch some high flying bugs was to climb the window screens and then bat at them.... shessh! So far we had avoided that. not anymore....  She still seems partial to Nicholas. Every time he'd move she was there. Sometimes just sitting by him. Kinda cute! Bug is more at ease with both of the boys as the days go by. YAY! on that. Yupp! Normalcy in MusketerrVille! cat_pet_icon

Have a great day everyone! Nicholas and William are with me again today. It will be a swim day for Nicholas. William will spend the morning with my DMIL. I am so grateful to her for taking on some William time so Nicholas and I can go to the pool. YAY! SO so cool! I will try and get to condos when I can.

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN!! cat_pet_icon

Oh no, not the screens, Lola!!
I love that she and Nicholas are buds. So sweet.
I also love that Elsa is checking on NannerVille, Mannie-style. So heartwarming.

Enjoy your day today, Michelle!

I'm glad you all had a wonderful time yesterday, and I know that you'll have a wonderful time today, and tomorrow and for many days to come. I love how he suggested that you go get a coffee. Too cute! Have a great day, guys!

That's so sweet Nicholas is always checking on William. On no on Lola and the screens. Hopefully she doesn't tear them up. I hope you had a good swim day. I'm sure Nicholas loved it.

Hi Everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. The boys and I had a great one today. William stayed with his Grammie Connie, my DMIL, while Nicholas and I went to swim. She thoroughly enjoyed having William today, and really does well with him. I am so glad that this will work out, as it makes it easy for Nicholas and I to swim, and I don't have to worry about William while we do. What a relief! We had a good day in the pool today, with the energizer FISH. I had my swimmer back today, YaHOO!!! Whatever was bothering him last time seems to have passed. It was nice to see him into everything there was there to do today. and with smiles. funny - he still wants to watch the lessons, so we did that for a few minutes before he went into play. He is very observant, watching all. He tried several times to swim from one side to the other in the beach area pool, and was ecstatic when he made it. It is 100% doggie paddle, but the arms made it out of the water. ;-) I might make a swimmer out of him yet. Pool has been really quiet there this week, and last. Hooray for back to school. We have had, more or less, the bigger pool almost to ourselves. Well anyways - lots of swim stuff today. We did a little of the pool trail after that, maybe for 30 minutes, until he was out of steam, and wanted to go and get his brother. He sure is attached to William. Hope that stays that way. : ) I will post the Picassa link in tomorrow's condo.

Hi Josie - YUPP! The screens!   Me too on her and Nicholas. I think over time they will have a good friendship. Bug seems to navigate more towards William. A big yes on Elsa, and her keeping all in line in NannerVille. really nice! THX on today - it has been good!

Hi Angela - ah thank you for that. I sure hope that it continues to be that way. somehow I think it will. I laughed so hard when Nicholas told me to stop and get a coffee. The kids knows me too well.

Hi Carla - It is so nice how much Nicholas loves his little bro. He's always making sure all is OK. A big yes on Lola and the screens. So far she hasn't repeated it - YAY!!! and Paws crossed on that one! ANd yes, swim was good today - he had such fun.

I'm surprised it took Lola this long to discover the screens. She's always going to be on to the next "thing" before you know it....she's got an adventurous spirit! I'm glad you've got a good plan for William so Nicholas can get in his swim time. That must be a big relief!

Have a great night, Michelle!!!

morning Amy - I so agree on the screens.... me too! she has since left them alone too. hooray! maybe I will get lucky on that one. Me too on the plans for William care so Nicholas and I can swim. it really is a relief.
