Again -she didn't want to eat much breakfast - just licked at some FF. So, I went btb for 1/2 hr and woke up to her nibbling at the rest of the FF. She nibbled on and off and I didn't put any shredded rotisserie chicken out until just before I left at +2. I don't know if she's eating enough, but we both could use a break from force feeding. And, she may well be eating a full amount - it's just hard to tell between her and Blue.

Kasha story for today:

Years ago, in our old apartment, I gave Kasha the end of a cardboard roll of paper towels to play with. She attacked it and thoroughly "disemboweled" it, shredding the little bits of remaining towel that were glued to the roll. So, from time to time, I would give her the end of a toilet paper roll or paper towel roll and let her shred to her heart's content. She never touched the toilet paper in the holder, just the ends that I gave her to play with. Then one day, we were in the upstairs of the apartment and Kasha strode meaningfully into the bathroom. She went under the sink (she may have even opened the cupboard) and came walking out with a FULL roll of toilet paper. I didn't realize she knew where they were kept, nor did I think she'd do anything about it if she did know. It was bigger than her head - and she walked out proudly, looking at me from the corner of her eye. Then she proceeded to drop onto her side and shred that toilet paper till it looked like it had snowed. It was really, really cute. Messy, but cute.

Oh, that would have been a good picture  I can imagine it.
How is her breathing?
I hope you both have a good relaxing day.

Great story, and glad she's still eating at least something on her own. Hope you both have a great day.

She's been breathing quietly and clearly as far as I can tell. Ever since about 18 hrs after her first chemo (6 days ago!), we haven't had any more congestion sounds. Yesterday might be the first day I didn't have to wipe any mucus away from her nose either... Don't know if that was just a lull or if for some reason she's not as mucus-y.

what a great story! It is nice to head that she does eat on her own - that has to be a good feeling. O hope she has a great day - you too!

Goes to show that they're listening and watching much more than we realize.... :?
Took a civvie to the vet for her annual check last week. There had been several vet trips before that (not for her), and she paid it no mind. Yet the morning *she* was supposed to go, she wigged out and tried to hide. Did she hear the phone call? Look at the calendar? Read our minds? Who knows....

Kasha, you rock!

Ok - found an old syringe and compared with new syringes. In a totally unscientific experiment that mostly consisted of me eyeballing the droplets from each syringe, it seems like the old syringe's "0" line produced a drop approximately equivalent to a .1 or skinny .1 u on the new syringes. The new syringes have no play at all (or barely if I push on the plunger with a force that seems unlikely to be replicated while giving a shot) between the 0 line and the end where you push the plunger - they are basically one in the same.

I may try for a more scientific approach in the coming days, but that was all the excess energy I had left over. I got Kasha a new prescription for cyproheptadine today since it seems to be helping us. I just picked it up and noticed to my disgust that they have her marked as a "K-9". I am NOT letting her know about that.

Tomorrow is chemo day again. I am so afraid of these chemicals! They are very, very scary.

These chemicals are helping her and I am very glad you are going through with it.

I can relate to your syringe issue only in that I give minute amounts of R sometimes, and sometimes the zero line is right at the top of the syringe and sometimes it's down further, and that's going to make a big difference in my R dose.

:YMHUG: Good luck tomorrow, and get lots of rest tonight, if you can.

Great toilet-paper story, Krys! That Kasha is one smarty cat!! Sending you good thoughts and lots of healing snowflakes and vines for the chemo tomorrow. It is really good that her breathing is improving.

Many hugs,

Ella & Stu

that's such a cute story.

Good luck with the chemo tomorrow. As much good as the first one seemed to do, I hope the second is even better.
