Hello Lantus Land!

Jetson and Suzy are stalking a tree frog stuck to the window - they want to get it bad!

Still having tech issues with mobile docs, and computer isn't behaving either
So...
This am, +10.5: 217
AMPS: 206
3.5u with Tiki Cat Sardines/lobster 3oz can
+4: lunch Tiki Cat Salmon 3oz can
PMPS: 174 with CVS True Result meter, 302 with ReliOn meter

I just picked up the ReliOn meter, and used both meters for tonight's test with results being way far apart. I'd been advised the True meters can be unreliable, but haven't been able to get another until now. So now I'm more confused. In your experience, can anyone advise - which number do I trust?

He's not laying about and stalking the water fountain (just the frog) like he did before starting insulin, but he is still hungry.

Getting ready to take a +3, should I use the old, new, try both again?

I tried a True Test long ago, and it was way off from my Nova Max and my relion.

i'd try testing yourself with the relion, and if it comes up correct...i'd use it.

Others may have better advice, though.

that's too funny...
unless you're diabetic...then I'll be embarassed..

I usually test between 100 and 115 when i do the meter checks.

Great suggestion Celi.
That's a big difference.
I'm not familiar with either of those meters, so I don't have any input to offer.
Truth be told I never thought to question mine (Bayer Contour)....and I'm scared to test myself!

I got the scoop from the meter commercials to test myself on the arm...
and they're right...can't even feel it!

i can actually feel it on the fingertip...yipe!

No worries Sandy -- I use a Contour and have tested myself!!

Consumer Reports reviewed glucometers. The review is a bit dated but the Relion was one of their highly rated meters. (Keep in mind that Consumer Reports also considers cost a factor.) The True Result/True Test meters were found to be unreliable. Stick with the Relion.

Thanks Celi, Sandy, and Sienne!

And, survey says...
True result: 134
ReliOn (Jetson): 175
ReliOn ( me ): 65 {phew!}

I had to stick myself 4x to get a good drop!!! OW! Poor Jetson
Going forward with the ReliOn meter.

Have a good nite :-D

heehee i don't know anything about the meters, but enjoyed the discussion! glad you got it figured out!

i've tested myself a couple of times, first thing in the morning after 12 hours of no eating - i've gotten a 99 and an 84. my family has diabetes everywhere, and i'm a sloth, so i do worry about it! i'm jealous of your 65! good job! have a doughnut!
