Not sure what was going on, but Weeble was crying and yowling and running around all night. She was acting exactly like she had before she was dx'd. Finally able to get her into bed (under the covers) and get some sleep around 5:30 am. She still seems a little off--a bit panicky. Some lip licking and no poos since yesterday morning--so maybe there's somethiing going on there.

Ach. Why is it always something? Hopefully she'll take a nice poo and be back on track. Go bowels!

Hi Amanda and Weeble,

Sorry you had such an awful night. I can't view Weeble's SS from work, but did you get numbers throughout the night? I apologize if it is on there - wish I could access these things. Napoleon had a hypo a few weeks ago and he had the lip licking symptoms and the panicky acting. It is a sign of a hypo and with a 75 AMBG - could there have been some really low numbers last night? Just a thought.

Forgive me - I know Weeble is on the OTJ trial and has not been getting juice. Could there have been some left in the shed I wonder? Either way Weeble is doing great!!!

I don't think there's anything left in the shed. Before I had her IBD under control, she was lip-licking all the time. I know it can be a sign of nausea, so unfortunately I think that might be it. She's still not really adjusted to the new wet-food-only during the day and I may have been wrong thinking she didn't need an afternoon Cisapride dose (which contracts her digestive system) because she'd been eating less and wet only. Jumped the gun on that one, I guess.

Thanks for all of your support, I'm sure we'll have some "movement" soon and all will be well!

Nice number for Weeble, sorry she wasn't feeling quite right last night. Hopefully today everything will "come out alright" and she'll be feeling better.

Thanks Amanda for sharing your feeding tricks. I try a different flavor/brand of wet every time, too, but Muffin just doesn't acknowledge that it's even food. She won't get close enough to it to even give it a lick. I swear she's like my son was when he was little - "I don't like that" "How do you know if you've never tried it?" Sometimes I just want to throttle her little neck. :lol: What you said about switching the dry food does give me the idea to try putting a little wellness underneath the FF in a bowl. I've just been putting them side by side right on the desktop and she does eat around the wellness now, so thank you for reminding me of that tactic.

Amanda, I'm happy for the ambg, but sorry that Weeble doesn't feel well. :sad:
I can't believe them there people is talking to bowels. Ain't there no class around here?

Funny you should ask, I just made a mental note of how she seemed to be heading back into crazy town a bit. I think she may be a mite constipated and that I may have jumped the gun on the dry food during the day--she seems to have lost weight in the last couple days. I'm not here enough to feed her every hour or two consistently (she currently refuses to graze on wet).

I think I'm going to get one of those food ball things and put a couple tablespoons of dry in it for the day and continue to have wet food encroach on the dry at night with the goal of total wet food in 3-4 weeks. Not too happy about it, but doing things slowly does seem to work (see: trick) her much better. Plus, she seems to get the pukies if she doesn't eat enough in the afternoon. Don't know how to explain it, but my dog with EPI (a pancreas disease) is the same way.

Sorry you asked yet? Yikes, I think you just caught me mid-obsession and plan-forming! Helping an addict is never easy I guess--particularly when that addict is a cat.

Fingers crossed for a sleepy Weebie with a green PMBG tonight!

She's not a binger or anything, but I really want to avoid bringing out the dry in a bowl at all during the day. Seems like once she's got that on the brain, everything else is just a distraction. Did I mention I opened 3 cans of EVO today, out of which she ate 3 whole tablespoons?

I showed her your hypnosis, I'll blame you if it doesn't work. (Kidding, kidding--can't bring myself to use the smilies for some reason...)

And did I use the word "pukies" in my last post? I'm really losing my mind. On a related note, good-lookin' poo tonight!

Thanks for the link Amanda. I may try that for my overweight cat - put freeze dried chicken or something in it. I try to play with him, to get him to exercise. There's only one toy in the house that he likes and it's basically yarn on a stick, but 75% of the time he won't chase it, he just lays down and waits for it to come to him. When it gets in reach tho, look out! :lol:

Weeble's looking great btw, happy day 3!

ETA: I wanted to tell you I tried mixing the wellness and the FF in a bowl - she just dumped the whole thing on the floor! Dog is having a field day! Silly Muffin :roll:
 
Ha! Muffin doesn't mess around. Maybe you should start with one piece and take cover...
