If you tend to be like me, I often overlook the Announcements section at the top of the Board. Too often, the information that's there doesn't change so I forget to look.

Rebecca just posted a request from Jacqui Rand, DVM for donations to fund further research at University of Queensland in diabetic cats and dogs. Jacqui Rand and Kirsten Roomp collaborated in a study using the Tight Regulation Protocol developed by Kirsten and members of the German Diabetes-Katzen Forum. The study has since been published in the Journal of Feline Medicine.

Here's the link to Dr. Rand's request.

Sienne: Thanks for posting this reminder. If all of us who have benefited from Dr. Rand’s research would donate just $10 to help her get the continuous blood glucose monitors she needs, that would help her to continue this important research into feline diabetes. As I understand it, continuous glucose monitors will help Dr. Rand better understand the effects of insulin in real time, and the results of her study could result in improved outcomes for our own cats, and those that come after.

Thanks for bringing visibility to this, Sienne! I had seen it a few days ago, but it dropped off my radar. Definitely donating this weekend! :thumbup
