Funny story, when my husband and I moved into our home there were tons of praying mantises outside on our bushes. Our neighbor would buy them as eggs or as baby mantids and let them go outside because they are great for plants. Napoleon developed an absolute fascination with them, he loves them, talks to them. He even has 2 little praying mantis plastic toys that he adores. He prances around the house carrying them around. For some reason this year, not sure if it is because it has been so very hot, but there have been almost no mantids. I took Napoleon's praying mantis toys out for him to play with last night cause I can't leave him with them unattended because they will be eaten, limb by plastic limb. He hadn't played with them in a while because I had put them away one day and couldn't find them. This morning I opened my front door and there right on the screen was a huge praying mantis! Napoleon went nuts, he wanted to play with that thing soooo bad. It stayed there on the screen moving it's head when he moved and just hanging out with him. It was so sweet. Wonder what he loves so much about them. Either way it is too cute.
