Good morning,

Happy Labor Day!

Last night Butch went from the 300s to the yellow and blue and remained in the low yellow for his AMPS shoot. He at his AM meal FF 2% carb and I saved some for his +1, +2, +3 snack. Trying to flatten the curve and ease the bouncing. Hopefully, he glides to the beautiful blue and green

Have a wonderful Monday and safe surfing :cat:

Hi Madeline, how did Butch’s surf and cycle go today?
I hope he comes down to see some more :cool:
Hope you’re both having a nice Holiday.

Hi Staci. Thank you for the well wishes.
Today Butch's cycle climbed, and I didn't see no nadir. I have noticed that this has happened before, but I am not sure why.
Would this be considered a bounce, or would this only occur if insulin didn't get administered correctly?

He’s probably bouncing from the blues of last night. When they drop quickly or spend time in lower numbers than they are used to it can trigger a bounce.

Thank you so much, Staci.:bighug:
Hopefully, with splitting his am/pm meals with the +1, +2, and +3, he will have flatter curves in the blue and greens with less bouncing
I am always questioning if his insulin is being done correctly since I am not the one shooting. I have three people who do his shoots.
Hope you have a calm night and safe surfing, Ivy!:bighug::cat:

Some cats will go high before the bounce breaks. So…Butch, whatcha got up your paw?!
Thank you so much, Christie. :bighug:
Exactly, making his mom a nervous wreck!:nailbiting:
If I got it right, even though Butch PMPS was high. I am feeding the other 1/2 of his can as a snack +1, +2, and +3 (even if his numbers don't drop)? to even out the curve helping him glide to blue and greens hoping to lessen the bouncing?
Hope you have a calm night and safe surfing, Maverick! :bighug::cat:

You’re doing the absolute best you can. You are managing his care with such care and attention.
I hope Butch also surfs safely and the food helps get him to surf more flat. Have a good night, Madeline :bighug:

Most cats do better with main meals at preshot, and snacks in between. Depending on the cycle, when Mav was on Lantus, I’d skip feed at +1 and keep a +2 and +3 and one before bed. It did take a bit of experimenting.
