Thanks Rhiannon! I believe we have the same medicine in HK but must be under other brand name. To play safe, I've asked my friend to bring some of those over for me.

:?: Just got that Neosporing ointment from my Seattle friend. I'd like to know when to apply that? Apply it before the poke or after the poke. Apply directly on the wounded spot?

I've done both.
When I first started poking, the ointment helped the blood bead up instead of spreading into the fur. And then I put a little more afterwards.
very lightly.

Now, I only put it on right after we are done. very lightly.
Shadow doesn't care for it on her ears now that she is feeling so much better.

Hey, Helen -

Hope Rosy settles into her dose and comes down some more for you. Enjoy your time with your friend, nice that she can bring you supplies, too.

We use the ointment sometimes after poking.

Have a great day -

Libby (& Hershey, too!)

Good luck with the dosecrease. I put Neosporin on Furball's ear after each poke. I use just a little bit each time.

Hi Helen,
I use the Neosporin creme with pain relief on Rusty's ear at bedtime (it absorbs fully and does not leave a sticky residue, like the ointment does). I use plain vaseline (petroleum jelly) before the ear prick to help the blood to bead up. Lots of people use the Neosporin ointment for this purpose, as you can see in the comments above.

Good luck with the new dose.

Enjoy the evening (or the day!)

Ella & Rusty
