Good Morning LL

Nothing unusual here. Breffis, and minis+1, and +2, consumed. LB is done in evening when bean is present to admire the contribution. :-D Nap is in progress.
All is quiet in the house, for a change. My Little One, (Clancy) is either up to mischief, or finally napping. That young 'un, doesn't have an 'off' button. :-D

Happy Sunday Everybody

Looks like Checkers is coming down nicely although he has gone from red, pink to yellow in just 2 hours...slow down a little Checkers.
Quiet sounds good.
Have a good day Barb.

Re: 9/19 Checkers~amps 438~+1/370~+2/267

Hi Barb, Checkers is dropping by leaps and bounds this morning. He doesn't like to slow those drops, does he!! But he's off the red floor and already in yellow, so that's a plus! Check in with you later and hope that you will have better weather today than we are having.

Re: 9/19 Checkers~amps 438~+1/370~+2/267

Resisting the impulse to feed MC, to slow the drop at +3of 177, because he is so sensitive to carbs, I don't want him to start climbing again.
If that is wrong, I welcome advice. I would dearly love to not have red at PMPS

nice day for Checkers! Good drop, I'd see how far you can get with the LC - but I'm no expert. Always flying by the seat of my pants. Good luck - so nice to see Checkers in the blues.

Re: 9/19 Checkers+1/370~+2/267~+3/177~+4/164

Test in a half an hour Barb...and see how far he has gone down after the LC you fed. Good job feeding those mini meals all along this morning! :thumbup He really wants to get back to the nicer numbers....surf the blues Checkers!

Re: 9/19 Checkers~+3/177~+4/164~+6/215+8/404 `

He hates me. He does this on purpose, to make me look bad

At +7.5, he wanted food, so fed a little LC..
At +8, he was begging for more, so gave another half teas.. that was going to be it, until PS

So, is this 404, a food spike, or bounce from the dinky two blues?

Have no idea Barb...I'm so new to this whole thing.....

I have noticed w/Curry that if I give her any food past +4 or +5 she will increase her glucose dramatically. Right now, for Curry anyway, she needs the insulin to keep her numbers down cuz her little pancreas is still sleepy. But every cat is different.

Come on Checkers give Barb some pretty numbers will ya?

Re: 9/19 Checkers.pmps/438

I think it's a combination of the two. If you feed after Lantus peaks, there's very little momentum from the insulin to offset the effect of the food, especially if the numbers are heading up in the latter part of the cycle. If Checkers is bouncing from the blue, feeding him during the latter part of the cycle is only going to accentuate the bounce.

Re: 9/19 Checkers.pmps/438

wow - sorry on the bounce. i think sienne is right. And he will come down soon - try not to focus on the red, remember the blue, and know he will be there again soon.

ok Checkers - now do your stuff: back down you go!

Re: 9/19 Checkers.pmps/438...282/+1.5

But that's what I don't understand. People feed their cats a snack, late in the cycle...around +8, or so, and no one else bounces tht high, every time.
He can't go from +3, until +12, shot time, without food.
I was being so careful today, to give most food early in cycle, but he was hungry at +7.5 to +8

Nice to see him back into the yellows...good checking Barb...you are doing a good job.
Those blips have to just be ignored sometimes, ya know? Keep on keeping on....

Hi Barb - nice to see checkers back in the yellow - YAY! I know on the food thing. I too give Mannie a snack at +8/9. most of the time it helps keep things in line. There are also occasions when it will bump him up - why - i dunno.... sometimes we just have to sigh alot, and keep on truckin'. I'd continue to give Checkers his +9 snack. If he's like Mannie he is hungry.

I really do believe that you are doing a great job with Checkers. I also know how frustrating it can all be. The food adjustments we made with Mannie, like you are with Checkers, took a long time before we saw results. I made those changes to reduce the severity of his drops, and the high high bounces he had. The change was gradual, took a few months. Just keep at it, it will work, just not over night. It;s hard to think so when you still continue to see bounces. It was for me, but one day we were there. You will be too.

Have a great evening!
