Good morning, LL! ☼☼☼
Sending vines to Jupiter, Onyx, Angela's Shadow, and Zener ♥♥♥♥

Ripley is doing great this morning.
Good appy, squawky, PDLB (#1 and #2, no ketones).
I posted yesterday's condo late, but in summary, her labwork values appear to be very similar to the values from March ~ and no UTI :-D :-D :-D !!

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday! (it is Wednesday, right? yep, just checked Gracie's 9/17 condo ;-) )

Re: 9/18 Ripley AMPS 96

Morning Josie! It looks like Ripley will need a new  hat because this kind of morning doesn't go with red at all! Glad you got some sleep last night ;-) I had good intentions of a later test on Papaya too but sleep won!

Re: 9/18 Ripley AMPS 96

Hi, Amy :-D You just gave me a great idea! I should get a green hat, blue, yellow, etc, and just post a pic of R wearing a color-appropriate hat according to her BGs...

Hi, Melissa :-D I'm so relieved that there's no UTI, as she seems to be pretty susceptible to them since her FD & CKD dx. My vet saved that info for last yesterday ~ I didn't even realize how tense I was until I heard "no infection" :-D

Re: 9/18 Ripley AMPS 96

Ooh, I like the hat idea. I'll have to find a crown for Ozy. This morning feels early even though I got a pretty good night's sleep.

Since you like the pancreas costume...

Re: 9/18 Ripley AMPS 96

Hi Josie. Ripely looks like she's a Texas kitty in the pic you posted yesterday. Glad the UTI is gone and she is doing well.

Have a great day Josie.

Re: 9/18 Ripley AMPS 96

Fabulous start this morning, Rips.  And WOOHOO for great lab work! :-D :-D Ripley, you are stylin' in your fancy hat. :-D  Thank you for the good wishes for Zener, we really appreciate it!
Liz

Re: 9/18 Ripley AMPS 96

Lookin' good over here, Miss Ripples...and way to rock that BW! We're looking forward to your parade of hats  !!!

Have a great evening, Josie!

Re: 9/18 Ripley AMPS 96, +9 74, PMPS 96, unhappy cat

Thanks for all of the visits today :-D

Ripley isn't acting like her happy usual self tonight.
She isn't interested in her dinner at all, doesn't even want to smell it.

Her appy has actually been not super since the evening of her vet visit on Monday ~ just figured it was due to vetty stress. Last night she wasn't interested in eating at first, but when we loaded up her dinner with shrimp treats she dove right in. (But she has had an excellent appy for her breakfasts).

We administer sub-q fluids while her face is in her dinner, no problem ~ usually only takes one of us humans to do it. Last night we both were hovering, I was holding the needle in place and DH was consistently crumbling shrimp to keep her attention and in one place until the fluids were done.

Tonight we managed to get in about 3/4 of her fluids before she was completely done.

She meowed when I gave her her insulin shot (she never even notices usually); and half-way through her fluids she meowed and looked uncomfortable.
Right after I took the needle out, she went to the couch and laid down, glaring at me.

She spent about an hour basking in the backyard, but it's a cool day; I wonder if she ate something outside that isn't agreeing with her, or if her arthritis is acting up and making her feel nauseous.

So far she has eaten about 1T of dinner, and is currently sleeping.

My poor girl.
None of us like to see our furkiddos feeling unwell.

Re: 9/18 Ripley AMPS 96, +9 74, PMPS 96, unhappy cat

Hi Josie,
I'm so sorry that Ripley isn't feeling well tonight. Maybe she did eat something that didn't agree with her. Do you have plants that she might have "sampled"? Has she vomited? Could she have picked up something at the vet's? Symptoms of plant poisoning: irritation and swelling of the mouth and throat; rashes; vomiting; abdominal pain; diarrhea; trembling; salivation; respiratory trouble. If you suspect poisoning, the ASPCA has a poison hot-line (24 hours a day):
(888) 426-4435.

I hope that by tomorrow she'll be feeling good again. Sending lots of healing vines.

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Tons of vines for Ripley, especially appy vines. Sounds just a little too familiar. I hope the fluids perk her up. (((Josie)))

Re: 9/18 Ripley AMPS 96, +9 74, PMPS 96, unhappy cat

Thanks so much for the vines Amy, Ella, and Liz :YMHUG:
They're working ~ she's eating now.

A few minutes ago I sat near her on the couch (hovering, but trying not to get in her space). She stretch out her paw and rested it on my leg and looked at me. Sweet girl. The sparkle is coming back in her eyes.

It's amazing how quickly one can get a sense of dread and sadness when kitty is not feeling well (and the reason why is unknown).
I try to be positive, but my world stops until I know she's ok.
She ate about 1 more T. of dinner. :-D

I'm sure she'll be feeling good in no time, and probably will be back to normal tomorrow.

PS: Thanks so much, Ella, for the poison hotline # ~ that's one I'm adding to her notes, just in case. She may have eaten something outside, but she isn't showing any signs of plant poisoning.

Re: 9/18 Ripley AMPS 96, +9 74, PMPS 96, unhappy cat

Thanks so much Jamie and Amy ♥♥

I'm constantly shooing Marley (our dog) and civie Smokey away from Ripley's food ~ it's killing them that her food as been out for so long  . Silly hoovers.

Re: 9/18 Ripley AMPS 96, +9 74, PMPS 96, unhappy cat

I am so glad to hear her beautiful eyes are starting to sparkle again! Good appy vines, hope she back to herself by tomorrow!

Jane

Re: 9/18 Ripley AMPS 96, +9 74, PMPS 96, unhappy cat

Thanks, Sienne and Jane ♥♥

She's eating again. What a relief.

Smokey is distracted by the Wookiee Mouse that's hanging from Ripley's harness-leash in a doorway ~ good thinking, DH!

Re: 9/18 Ripley AMPS 96, +9 74, PMPS 96, unhappy cat

glad she's eating now - it is amazing how well they telegraph their feelings if they are feeling crummy. hopefully, she's on the mend now.

Re: 9/18 Ripley AMPS 96, +9 74, PMPS 96, unhappy cat

Glad to know that I'm not the only one to go through this...over a cat. When I tell people about my cat and the trials and tribulations, I feel so silly. But then I come here to LL and feel so normal and human again. I'm so happy to hear that Ripley's eating again and starting to feel a bit more like herself. Sending feel-better and eat-better vines to her and comfort vines to you and DH. ((hugs))

This will be me tomorrow evening:
drinking09

(After Open House, of course  )

A saving grace is that Friday is Pajama Day...

Ripley's rolling around on her catnip carrot ~ a great sign in my book.
Ni ni, LL.

Oh no, I'm sorry her appy hasn't been her 100% lately and she was feeling unwell this evening.
I know it's really hard for you ((Josie)) to see Ripley feeling not so well.
I am very relieved to hear that her appetite is picking up.
I'm sending extra strong feel better and enjoy fuds vines to sweet Ripley.
