I was surprised with this low blue AMPS for Maggie. She must have surfed low blues all night. Maggie is feeling pretty good this am, as she did the zoom, zoom after visiting the litter box, running like a crazy lady and jumping onto the top of the sofa. No lb yet though, but all the other P's are good! Do most of you trim your kitties' nails? There is a pet grooming business less than a mile from me, and I'm thinking I'll take her in for a trim. I could take her to the Vet, but it's a longer drive and more expensive. Of course, she knows everyone at the Vet's though! Laundry is on the agenda and some errands. Have a nice, relaxing Sunday.

Go Maggie go! I'm intrigued by the morning surprises....just when we think we have them figured out....So glad to hear she's enjoying herself.

I've never cut my cats nails - we have a post that they definitely "scratch" on and I guess I just assumed that they were filing their own....Now of course I'm going to have to rangle them both and take loook :-D :-D

What a great AMPS for Miss Maggie! Funny about the litter box routine. Simon does the same thing, running around like crazy after he uses it.

I trim Simon's and Cleo's nails, with the help from DH. DH distracts them by giving them scratches on the head and back while I do the dirty work. I have hardwood floors and it is really noticeable when their nails get long. Neither one seems to mind too much with the nail trimming as long as they get a treat afterwards. The only thing you have to be careful of is trimming too close, although I have never had that happen. I definitely need to wear my reading glasses when doing the nail trimming!

Hi Angela, here's our first green; Maggie read your remarks! :-D

Hi Jessica, I have one of those tall rug condo type scratchers, but it's worn down. I think I'll take her in for a trim soon, as she gets her nails caught on things.

Hi Georgia, yes, they are so funny with that running after using the box! She's quite playful this morning but zzzzz right now. That would definitely help to have someone hold our kitty with the nail trim.

Morning!! WOW Maggie - look at you! What a nice green! Surf well today, 'K?

Maggie sure is one happy kitty today - all that zoom zooming! Good for her. I've never had to trim nails, but all my kitties go out, they seems to t whittle them down on all the tree scratching that they do. All that is except for the eldest who doesn't go far. The vet tech trimmed hers the last time she was there, sure looked easy to do.... however... I dunno on doing that on my own: she's a feisty one when it come to that kind of stuff. nice part was that they didn't charge me. YAY!, and must have been an oversight.

have a great day today - enjoy that laundry....

Re: 9/18 Maggie AMPS 121; +3 87 ATrak

NICE start Maggie! KT does the LB run thing too - we decided it must have smelled bad enough that he had to RUN to get away from it. :? :-D

Clipping nails - I clip all my inside cat's nails - I just use either my human toenail clippers and cut from the side or a small pair of dog nail scissors. You'll be clipping off the ends that are sharp. The nails will have to regrow another set and drop that one to be sharp again. I only do mine's front feet but they lay next to me on the bed, KT usually goes to sleep while I'm doing it. I've had to do the burrito for some of the new ones when they come in but as soon as they figure out I'm not hurting them, we can do away with the wrap. Nuisance has to flinch with each clip - not because it hurts but the sound of the 'snip' bothers him.

Enjoy your surfin' Sunday!

nice +3, Miz M!!

I trim Binks' and Smudge's nails...Annie bites her own.
As did my heartmate Homie-GA...never ever had to trim his, and he was life-long indoor guy.
Binks is used to it...Smudge allows it cuz she gets Muchas Lovies during the process...
and with her Ham-Pawed polydactyl tootsies...trimming is a MUST!

+5.5 89

Hi Michelle, thanks on the cycle, and I'm surprised she surfed this long. I just fed some FF Chicken Feast and Seafood Feast, so she should rise.

Hi Sharon and Sparky, yay on the green wave! I was surprised at the +5.5!

NICE start Maggie! KT does the LB run thing too - we decided it must have smelled bad enough that he had to RUN to get away from it.
 Hi Squeaky and KT, it is quite funny to see them do the zoom, zoom! Wow, it sounds like you're a pro at the clipping nails, even using the burrito wrap. I hope so, too, on the surf, so far so good!

Hi Celi, funny with Annie biting her nails. My GA Siamese was famous for biting his nails.

+9 100

Mags came up slowly with asking for food at the +9! She doesn't seem to want to eat when she gets in the 80's, so I have to do some coaxing and following her around with the dish of food.

Hi Lisa, thanks for stopping by earlier. Hope your headache has subsided by now and you can enjoy that birthday dinner.

PMPS 128

Maggie still isn't interested in eating, but at least this is a decent end of day bg! She probably wants a freshly opened can!

Great day Maggie girl!
I just started trimming Zener's nails and only his rear ones. He scratches on pads and outdoors with his front claws but as he has gotten older, and a little weaker in his rear legs complicated by CH, he isn't able to manage. I use regular nail clippers and just trim the points off. He lies quietly like he does for testing, most of the time. I used to do the same on one of my kitties who has GA and we did the "kitty burito" technique, but only after he got older and went click, click, click on hardwood floors

Hi Ann & Maggie,
Rusty got a "complimentary" nail trim and ear cleaning at the vet's when he had his dental. Our new vet has a website on which she has posted a video of how to trim a cat's nails. When I get home I'll send you the link. I've never done it, but it doesn't look too difficult.
Nice cycle today, Maggie!

See you tomorrow. Come to Camp Stu and hang out with the gang.

Ella & Rusty

AMPS 121
+3 87
+5.5 89
+9 100
PMPS 128
+2.5 125

I fed Maggie one of her favs, FF Turkey & giblets after the 89 bg, as she tends to not eat when in the 80's which is low for her. I guess the effects haven't taken a hold with the 125 at +2.5! This usually causes a spike but woll probably catch up with Mags later.

Hi Ella, thanks on the video and Mags will see Rusty at Camp Stu.

Hi Christie, I hope so, too, but not sure if I can stay up very long. I've been sleeping off and on all day and hope it's just tiredness and not catching a bug. I had both the flu and whooping cough shots.

Hi Anne & Zener, nice with the trimming of kitties' nails. I think I'll buy a new scratcher tomorrow.

+3.5 122

Maggie gets more FF Turkey & Giblets, as it's all she will eat for the time! I think she will surf nice low blues tonight or maybe rise from the T&G!

Maggie!! Wow...what a day you had!!! And zippy pants, too? !!!

Great cycle, Ann!! I hope you got your errands done. Thanks so much for sharing in our day!!

Thanks Marje, little girl Mags has had two nice days. She's looking forward to the party for Gracie's anniversary tonight and can't wait to see feisty Tobey, too.
