Happy Caturday LLers

4/5 P's taken care of, not wanting to jinx anything, yesterday was Shadow's best numbers EVER. (anti-jinx). This morning is 4th cycle on her recent deduction - she's rocking it. I've got social stuff happening today, I'll be in and out. did a poor job on yesterday's condo, was too busy watching the all excitement in other condos.

Pat - so right (yet again :-D ) about mini-meals yesterday morning. gave the big girl a nice boost that she surfed on all day. gonna do it again today, I hope.

No kidding about Shadow "rockin' it" on this dose! What a beautiful day you guys had yesterday. I hope a repeat is in order, too!

So when are you giving Shadow the mini-meals?


When I've given a mini-meal Curry's BG has increased......so her pancreas still needs some resting????? I've ordered a feeder....will have to "train" her on it...with the infamous freeze dried chicken treats.....and eventually will put food in it...if she can put 2 and 2 together....right now her math isn't very good.

I am dividing her breffis #1 and breffis #2 into 4 mini-meals, feeding at +12, +1, +2, +3 and I'm doing that at am and pm. Libby said to watch it and not overfeed at these meals, Shadow hasn't lost a pound, in fact, seems a bit plumper than she was. :oops: we're working on that. And then she's pretty happy with smaller meals the rest of her regular meal times. And she gets a snack at +9 to see if her pancreas is waking up yet, the theory is, a very small snack right then can trigger the pancreas to produce some juice and she won't be high again at am, pm tests.

is that clear as mud? :shock:

I tried a +8 mini meal and then a +9 mini meal, the +9 seems to do better for Shadow. I have an automat and I use it mostly overnight, but with civvies in the house, you never know who's getting the goodies. At night I park it close to where Shadow sleeps, hoping she'll get the first crack at it. I use it for the overnight +2, +3. (We run a later schedule because of my work, 10a, 10p). If I'm wired when I get home, I'm up for +2, +3, if not, the autofeeder has to take over.

shoot. fed tsp 3% with tsp gravy, this usually works on her. recheck @ +4.

this waiting is the worst! anti-jinx obviously did not work.

I'm so sorry - I couldn't get back here yesterday. 40 minutes before I was due to host a grown-up birthday party/pool and cook-out/sleep-over thing, folks coming from out of town, I tested Shadow and got a 44. The hubz and I alternated every 30 minutes BG testing until +7 when I dropped my meter and broke it. ohmygod_smile Pieces went flying. Mad scramble for the back up and half the strips were bad, old I guess, and we couldn't get as many numbers. By the time I got a strip to work, BG was 133. Whew! All this time, we are testing, feeding, trying to entertain these folks and I had to cook dinner, one of the guests took that over, it was all mostly ready, she just had to put everything together. nailbite_smile

I'm very sorry I left everyone hanging. It was tense. but I was never scared about SHadow, I knew I knew what to do, I just had all these balls in the air and the Hubz really came thru, helping me test and helping me watch the clock and keep up with food and drinks and 19% and gravy - it was not fun. @-)

So I took my automatic reduction at pmps, decreased her .25, gave 3.25u. Everyone is still asleep this morning as I try to get this all on my SS. The broken meter didn't lose its numbers, thank GOd, but it gives an error message every time I try to put in a strip.

My SS is filled in and accurate. I plan to continue today with 3.25u, unless someone comes by and tells me I've screwed up. I hope you guys aren't mad at me.

Again, I'm very sorry. It wasn't right to leave you all waiting and worrying. I kept thinking I would get back to the computer and get this all entered and before I knew it, it was 2 am and everyone was turning in. I checked a level, fed Shadow and turned in myself.

Please don't be mad.

Sounds like you were juggling alot yesterday. Hope the birthday party went well for ya. I remember you saying that you had a "social" something or other event to attend...so I was hopeful all was well.

So relieved this morning.
 
Do not worry! What a night you had - I am glad that all worked out ok. All of us understand what it is like when you have so much on your plate. You took care of what needed to be done, and that's what matters. Rest today, take care of your guy. I hope you guys have a calmer :-D day today. and mad? never mad.
 
Glad all is well. It does give the image of juggling a bunch of balls in the air. You handled it all.

As long as you are all okay, then we are okay! :mrgreen: You had quite a time of it, eh? I guess it's just that she was going low, and then when you didn't come back we all got so worried.
So glad that DH came through for you and that your guest was able to help with the dinner. Nice going Kim!! So glad everything is okay and that Shadow is fine. Sorry about the poor meter though...
Hope you have a good day today anyway...nice job with all that commotion too...I hate when that happens... :YMHUG:
