Good Morning Everyone,

Devastating pictures of the storm/tornado that hit NYC yesterday and so glad that Roni is OK. Our old neighborhood (Park Slope) in Brooklyn really got hit hard: huge, mature, beautiful trees down all over the place. Will have to check in with some friends later to see what the damage was near our old building.

Stu is having either a bounce this A.M., or the aftermath of a possible partial fur shot last night (and yesterday morning, too)! But he enjoyed breakfast and is about to get installment 3. Litterbox activity good. Brief tour of the walkway (heavy rain last night and drizzle and cold here this morning--not good weather for inspecting the garden). We haven't attempted the pill yet!! (Lisa: I ordered the pill gun last night; thanks again for the link). At the moment Mr. Cat is camped out on my backpack (seems to be his new favorite place to sleep).
I'm going for a short bike ride with some friends later this morning, provided that the weather clears. It's really awful now, and we pushed back the ride to 11 A.M. We are supposed to get sunshine today.

Park Slope is really in the news Ella.....guess it was hit the hardest...I hope your friends are okay and not suffering from too much damage...

Brooklyn - my grandmothers neighborhood... hope all is well there. We got so little feedback on that storm. I am sorry to hear that it was so bad. I hope the weather improves for you too. We are in the midst of a wet pattern, so typical for us. Very dense fog this morning. I hope you can get your ride in later.

Another kitty in yellow - Mannie is too, though a bit higher. Here's hoping our boys can find the lower floors.

my unclebean has an apt in manhattan, but spends most of his time at home in L.A. (i know...bi-coastal- i imagine it's nice)...havent heard how they fared yet...

Hi again,

Stu is flat yellow today and I hope that his storage shed is being refilled after the possible fur shots yesterday. It turned into a really nice day by this afternoon. Stu, DH and I just came in from a nice sunning in the garden. Earlier I had a leisurely 15-mile ride with 2 friends through and around one of the local campgrounds. Lots of fall color in the trees.
We were in touch with our downstairs neighbors in our former building (ca. 1902) in Park Slope, Brooklyn. The building is OK and the trees near it are also OK. Most important, the chimney (which we had rebuilt, since it abutted our roof deck) is fine. Our friends did say that their air conditioner was blown into their apartment! I'll e mail some more friends tonight. The neighborhood in general suffered a major loss of mature trees (many of them over 100 years old and truly grand). It is very sad to think of that.
Back later, it's time for a glass of beer!

I am glad that for the most part all are well in Brooklyn. Sad though on the trees - it is a shame to loose something that has been there for so long. ..

Hi Ella hope the pill gun works for you I find it a must have although some cats can still be hard to pill even with this but its works most of the time we use them in the animal hospital for really hard to pill cases. I have to use one for 2 of my cats only way I can get meds in them and I saw those pics of NYC just terrible some of the areas hit :sad:

I'm glad your place in the city is OK. Those pill guns are great. I had to use one for Cleo, definitely saves the fingers. I guess I had assumed you had already tried one.

Pill gun? I learn something new everyday. Never knew they had those - sure could have used one of those a few years back with another kitty.
