Ick on another HI. However, Papaya went out to the LB at 5:00 AM and left a big BM inbeside it . . . and I often notice if she's been saving one up her BG will come down afterwards. Not giving her a bedtime snack last night may have contributed to the HI as well; I sometimes second-guess my impression that a snack before bed actually helps her AMPS be lower, because I hear everyone saying not to feed around nadir since the insulin is wearing off. I think I need to stick with the bedtime snack especially when her numbers have started high that cycle; her nadir is probably quite late when she starts high and may continue dropping overnight. I hope she eats the food I left out today and settles into a good PMPS.

Have a nice day, LL, thanks for all the visits yesterday (Josie and Mariko , I didn't see your visits until this morning, thanks, I am trying to stay on my toes with this yo-yo!)

It looks like Papaya is working her way down! ECID is different when it comes to the fuds thing. I know a lot say to not feed after the nadir, but I also remember someone (I can't remember who now) suggested I try giving Trix a little snack at +8 or +9 to see if it would help bring her PS numbers down. (This was quite a while ago - maybe 2 years???). It seemed to help Trix, but I couldn't keep up the routine because of work, sleep, and the fact that Trix never took to the timed feeder. But, it does seem like that's what works for Papaya!

Have a great day, Amy!

Amy,

Thanks for stopping by and leaving an encouraging word. That Papaya sure works you hard! Does it make you anxious or have you accepted it?

Come on Papaya, give your mom some rest. How about a nice week of surfin?

You're such a patient and wise person, Amy, and you celebrate Papaya's endearing idiosyncrasies, but she seems kinda ineffable at times.
Not that that makes her any less lovable, of course.

Hey Amy - sorry Papaya is giving you a hard time - I can so relate to those wacky numbers!!! Hang in there - you will find what works for her. Have a great night!

Good luck figuring out when to give Papaya a snack. You have to find what works for her. Hopefully the bouncing will settle down soon.

Re: 9/17 Papaya AMPS=HI +4=356 PMPS=397

Oh???
Is Papaya upset that I said she was a yo-yo yesterday?
Papaya, I meant flat in lower numbers.

I hope she will slide down soon, Amy.
High or low, I love Papaya just the same.

Re: 9/17 Papaya AMPS=HI +4=356 PMPS=397

Awwww, you're all so sweet, you really put a smile on my face tonight. Thank you Amy, Donaleen, Melissa, Lara, Kelly, Dara, Carla, and Mariko! I haven't been online much this evening because Papaya seems to still be staying pretty high tonight so my fingers are knitting instead of typing . . . haven't figured out how to do both and my toes are not quite nimble enough! Maybe Papaya thinks she's going to be sneaky and go low very late tonight, but I'm on to her and am going to get a late test in

Mariko - I think the "yo-yo" was very accurate and cute, she's not upset at all ;-) but she does seemed to have picked the wrong place to be flat!
Lara and Kelly - I think I may frame your words as I am usually rather known for NOT being patient  glad you've seen some good moments apparently!
Dara - although I wish we all had cats that stayed in blue and green, it's kind of comforting knowing IT'S NOT JUST ME!!! Sorry Bob's wonky too, but at least we're in this together!
Melissa - I can almost see your finger shaking at her . . . I'll pass your instructions on to Papaya and see if it helps!
Donaleen - does it make me anxious? I feel bad for her when I see the high numbers, definitely, but I think I'm doing all that I can so sometimes it just has to be "accept the things you can't change". And overall she is clearly enjoying her daily life so I will keep doing the best I can for her.
Amy and Carla - I'm going to keep fiddling with the food and maybe I will hit something that makes a big difference - if you have any brilliant ideas feel free to pass them on ;-)
