Lately he's been having higher and higher PS for him, and I'm not exactly sure why. Could it be the insulin? It's six months old, so... Or perhaps I should go back to 0.75?

Any advice?

His nadirs look like the insulin is still effective. You could always try a new one. Are you using the pens or the vial?
Preshots are usually the last BGs to fall in line.
Maybe an adjustment to his feeding schedule?

If the insulin is 6 months old I think I would get a new one and see if that improves things.
If that doesn’t lower the BGs, then maybe look at increasing the dose.
See what Bhooma thinks.

Doesn't look like the insulin is a problem but you could always try a new pen to see if that helps. What would happen if you didn't feed 8-9% at +1? Would he drop below 50 and earn a reduction?
