I was going to try and get on earlier today when more people would be filtering through to see. Time forever slips by so quickly. :?
Tippie (my foster) is scheduled for her eye enucleation on 9/29. For those of you not on FB, I shared that the specialist determined she was blind in the eye due to a.... :sad: cat claw to the cornea :sad: I had to try hard to hold back my tears when i heard that one. The poor, sweet thing! Her other eye is infected with herpes virus. He is ruling out the possibility of using eye drops because they would drip right out. We are going to try a pill (cant remember name off hand), but think I will wait until the recovery phase or well after her surgery.
Im REALLY nervous about the surgery and aftercare. I dont know how she is going to take to an e collar for 10-14 days. An older cat may not like it, but their activity level is lower. She is miss hyper and NEEDS to get her energy out. She is a toddler. She is also VERY nervous of unknown or random noises. I hope she fits under her favorite hiding space, my bed, with that around her head. :?
I think Barb has a civie who went through this surgery. Im wondering if anyone else has? Just trying to find any resourceful people in case I have questions. Not too many on health were able to say they have had a cat go through this. I will try to come back tomorrow morning and repost this so maybe more people will see?
Otherwise Tippie is doing great! She has almost completely stopped waking me up at 4am to chew on my ear! :mrgreen: I do get a bite or smack in the face at times, but usually I deserve it. Or at least I understand where its coming from, even if I didnt deserve it. This was a BIG hurdle. She was the size of a large kickaroo, tail not included, when I got her. She is now close to 2 inches longer. The scale is tipping a pound higher. Im actually reducing her food some, as I think she may be getting every so slightly rounder too :lol: . She keeps me laughing every day and seems so loyal. She is a cuddler, a shadow, a mighty entertainer. If there was ANY way I could ever commit to a kitty for the rest of their life I would take her in a heart beat. For now I will just be grateful that I get to spend some good time with such a beautiful soul.
Oh- Im doing fine. Work, work, work...pay off debts....work, work, work....pay off debts. Thats just the way it is for now. New place is GREAT. LOVE IT! :mrgreen:
