Yesterday's Condo
Hey all, so far so good. Hopefully will have the chance today to do a decent curve and see how Jack-o's nadirs are looking. Got some questions about glucose meters/testing
We've been using the Walgreens True2Go meter and we recently got some new test strips and 4 out of 5 times we get an error message to test with a new strip. It is making us crazy, each test strip costs about 70¢, so it adds up fast. Have people had this issue with this or other meters? Can you return test strips because the batch seems to be garbage?
Yesterday, Yoshi brought home the Walgreen TrueTrack, to give that a go. When we do a spot check with both meters and the same blood sample, the TrueTrack is consistently 150 higher than the True2Go with Jack! We tested ourselves and Jack a few more times. With us the TrueTrack was consistently between 3-10 higher. We're staying with the lower #s for now, better to think we're 150 under and shoot lower.
We're incredibly frustrated, and don't really know which numbers to trust at this point. We also don't want to go buying meter after meter and keep getting more confused.
Do the newbie kits include a glucose meter that people have found to be reliable? If so, how do we get one? Or are there meters that people have known to be reliable?
Thanks!
