Hello all,

I had an appt this morning so was able to take a few tests. Ella is still in the stinky pinkys which is quite upsetting. I'm not sure if her numbers are the result of hitting the blues a few days ago or whether she needs more insulin. She saw some greens on 1.50 so I was hoping to see better numbers on 1.75. I'm hoping she's just settling in to her new dose. All P's in place although her poops have been on the smaller side lately. I gave her some restoral lax yesterday to see if we can get some bigger and better action!

Hi Tamara, I hope Ella will still show some nice numbers on this dose. I hope the Restoral does its job, and we see some nice, healthy, poop. (Zener's language)! :-D Lots of kitties with high numbers lately. Mannie says it's the New Moon! :?

The numbers could be from the moon, or some constipation. Maybe once you get a good poop, her numbers will come down. I hope she settles into this dose, and gives you some nicer yellows or blues for PMPS.

Hi guys .. I hope ella brings down those numbers soon .. and I hope she gives you some nice LB action! Maybe that will help with the higher numbers .. have a great day guys!

Thanks for the visits Dyana,Anne,Devon and Ann. Ella hasn't budged and I'm wondering if something else is going on with her. We're going for a post dental check up on Wednesday and I hope everything is healing up well. She still has a bit difficulty eating but is doing a pretty good job finishing her meals. She is doing a good job of grooming herself and is purring and a bit playful which leads me to believe everything should be ok but her numbers are just awful!

Miss Ella, it is time to get down to another floor. Pink is just so boring! Paws crossed some LB action will bring her down, I seem to remember it has done so in the past.

Hi Tamara - sorry for the pinks. Mannie is there too.... I hope she comes down for you, and settles into the new dose. Sometimes it takes a few days.

There really is some weird stuff going on with LL kitties and their numbers lately!! It seems that just about everyone is refusing to budge, despite increases. I gotta wonder...I think Mannie is right about the New Moon!

Trix is the same way. This time last year, she was surfing the greens perfectly on less than 1U. Now, she's at S3.5, and I'm lucky if we see a single green over the course of 4 days! Not only that, I haven't seen an ounce of improvement witn any increase we've done in the past 2 months. It's crazy But, she's her usual feisty self, despite the numbers.

I think FD is just a confounding disease...I know exactly how you feel.

I hope Ella starts working her juice soon!!

Thanks for visiting Michelle and Wendy. Looks like Ella is finally clearing her bounce. She's coming down nice and easy so I hope she can stick around the lower levels for a while.

Sorry Ella is so high. It might take a few days for her shelf and her body to catch up with her increase. Racci takes days every time she has a change in dose. I've gotten to the point where I try not to make any decisions on doses for the first few days of a change. I hope she settles in soon.

Sorry Ella is so high. It might take a few days for her shelf and her body to catch up with her increase. Racci takes days every time she has a change in dose. I've gotten to the point where I try not to make any decisions on doses for the first few days of a change. I hope she settles in soon.

i think amy's right on target - FD is a mysterious disease. perhaps if we could run complex lab tests every few weeks it wouldn't be so confusing, because there are no doubt reasons for everything. in the absence of that, however, it is hard to understand sometimes.

here's hoping she comes down soon. i think of you often and the whole "how do i run her low and be able to work" conundrum now that i'm back at work. it was easier to manage FD when i was home. oh well. it's how it is.

At least your little stinker is coming down! I hope she continues to come down and gets into some blue.

And I hope all is well with her on her dental recheck.
 
Just woke up to test and she's still sliding down slowly. Just out of curiosity if I shot her in the morning and she was in the mid blues due to a slow and steady slide, would that be considered shooting a dropping number? Thanks for visiting with your thoughts and concerns on Ella and FD. It is a mysterious disease. I'm so glad we have some movement after days and days of solid pinks.

If you have enough tests to show that it is, in fact, a dropping number and not a second dip. So if you don't see a nadir but just see numbers continue to come down to PS, then shooting it would be shooting a dropping number. Normally, if you are there to test and feed, shooting a dropping number (as long as it is not dropping below 50) is a great way to take advantage of overlap. But if you can't be there......that's a different story.

If you shoot a dropping number, you should expect that she might very well keep dropping after PS even if you feed. Except, of course, we are talking about Ella who reads her condo and does the opposite.
