Good evening LL! Hopefully I can get back to regular posting now that the tax deadline is past.

Bob is feeling much better than he was two nights ago-he's eating, peeing, pooping, purring, sometimes cleaning himself and just kinda hanging out being mellow. I think the coconut oil helped with that hairball. I'm just not sure about these numbers all of a sudden though. He wasn't doing too bad (for being on dry) on the 2.25 units - there was a nice period of yellows there for a while. Could someone take a look at his ss and see what may be causing this? Could the 2.5 units be making him go too low (for him) and bouncing? This would be a guess, of course, because I don't have many numbers in the middle of the day. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I hope everyone is having a good night! Thoughts and prayers for all the kitties in need tonight...

I don't think this is a bounce, but without more mid cycle tests it's hard to say. The ones you do have on the PM cycle are still in the yellows, (and fairly high yellows) so I just don't think he's going really low.

Now that the tax deadline is over, are you going to be able to get some more testing in?

Thanks Rhiannon!

Hi Chris - Probably not during the weekdays, but I will on the weekends. He wasn't feeling good two nights ago so I figured that's why he might be really high, but it was really high tonight too and he's much better than he was. Very confusing....

Dara --

I think there are a few too many variables to sort out without some additional tests. A bounce is possible. I also wonder how feeding the Orijen is factoring into the numbers. It also looks like Bob's numbers were better on more insulin.

dara - sienne's post got me wondering - i read back through some of your summer posts when you were switching to canned food and was looking at Bob's ss. it seemed like you had Bob eating canned food, but now he's got the dry food added. what happened that you added that back in? sorry if i'm asking something you've explained a dozen times, i haven't been on for a while but saw your request for eyes.

Hi Julie - it's been a long, hard road. I just wasn't able to transition him without endangering his health. He lost quite a bit of weight and the more I think about the time he was on wet food only, I would be surprised if he was eating more than 100 calories a day. He wasn't feeling good and I got scared about hepatic lipidosis (SP?). I can live with numbers in the 200's so that he feels good and eats. However, the last few days I have reduced the dry and his numbers shoot up. Just made me thing he might be going low (for him - that would be anything blue!) at some point causing the really high numbers. I don't know.
