Good Morning Everyone,

First of all, we want to thank you all again for your help and support yesterday. You guys are terrific!
Stu had a good night. Ate most of the food in his automat. Litterbox received its contributions. We've been outside, briefly (it's 40 degrees with damp fog here this morning and rain on the way--ugh--the canoeing has been postponed until Saturday). Couldn't get Stu to take his Methimazole pill this morning. Finally wrapped it in butter and left it in his dish. I hope he takes the bait! (but he's on to the butter trick, and doesn't like the pill pockets, either). A little later: he didn't take the pill in butter and it got softened, so we tried again with a fresh pill piece and finally got it down his throat. What a struggle!
Off now to visit condos for a while, then another round of the garden with Stu and a walk to the post office. Everyone have a good day.

Stu - dude - eat the butter man - it's full of good stuff, OK? Hey - Moonie is coming today, and bringing puffed shrimp. uh Stu - how does one puff shrimp? :shock: You wanna come too? It will be fun - we can hang out, eats lots, and do kitty things... See you? ~~ Mannie

Have a great day there - sorry for the weather. it is the same here - rain, but 60, not 40. Brrrr on the 40: fall is definitely coming. Sorry you had to postpone your canoe trip. Looks like I too am postponing - weather here not too favorable for the rest of the week.

Ella, it's a shame the pill pockets don't work for Stu. I would be lost without them for Tinkles, I am horrible at pilling, I hate it and I am usually unsuccessful when I try! It was in the low 40s here this morning, brrrr! I'm not ready for colder weather yet, but I guess mother nature won't ask for my permission! :razz: Have a nice day!

sorry to hear about the pill struggle this morning .. I don't think we would ever be able to pill our cats! Sorry to hear about the postponing of the canoe trip .. it isn't in the 40s here but it is very much damp! Rained all night and so far through the morning. Have a great day guys!

Hmmm, so what does love (that he can have) that you can stick it in? A chunk of tuna or chicken? Another blue kitty today, the kids are doing well today.

Ella can you just use a pill gun to pill Stu thats what I use for my stubborn cats you know the plastic pillers thingy not sure what to call it actually, but I have a aby here thats on every other day meds and he is so smart he can tell when his med is in anything and he also hates pill pockets and pill playdough and well just anything that I have tried to hide it in so I just have to stick it down his throat every other day at least its only 1 pill and its not daily thank goodness Do Lou is easy to pill since he gets 3 pills a day most of my cats are easy to pill but I do have a few feisty ones. Nice numbers for Mr Stu :-D

Hi Ella, this weather is so depressing, huh? Summer rain with the sun is so beautiful, but this gloom and cold, yuck. I was in and out all day, and I swear, it started raining every time I stepped outside. :lol:

Pilling is terrible when you can't wrap in something he loves. Its' hard on fingernails too. :lol: I had to pill one of DD's cats when I petsat last week. She wouldn't take it in anything, so I had to clip off my index nail, and just shove pill into her throat, after making sure her throat was wet. But then, Granny is like 110 years old, she doesn't strugle much. I don't know how hard it is to pill Stu.

That pill gun suggestion sounds interesting, let us know if you try it & how it works. I just had some medicine for Miss Nubbins compounded at the speciality pharmacy so I just rub it on the inside of her ears. Very nice as there is no way she will take a pill by mouth in any form or method whatsoever. Sure hope Mr. Stu enjoys the garden!

Hi again, Everyone,

PMPS 281. Stu seems to be reacting to yesterday, or maybe I gave a fur or partial fur shot this morning (it just didn't seem right). And, to cap it off, I had the same problem with the shot this evening (and Stu pulled away just as I was shooting). I think I can chalk up the day and aim for tomorrow! Mr. Cat has spent a lot of time sleeping on my backpack. But he always shows up for meals and eats most of what is put out. I cooked him a piece of chicken this evening and he enjoyed having some of that (but liked the water it was cooked in better than the meat!!). Thanks for the link to the pill pusher, Lisa. I will definitely get one. It might work and is worth a try even if Stu finds a way to reject it!! He put up a mighty struggle tonight.
Heavy rain this afternoon and evening. But they had awful storms on L.I. and in NYC, so I hope Roni & Moonie are OK. Will check in with them.
All for now. HOpe everyone is fine and will have a good night tonight.

IF it was a furshot things doesn't looking too bad. I had a similar problem w/ a syringe last wee. Te got that nasty "r" colored splot on her SS. :sad:

I hope Stu has a great evening! More wagner, or a ball game? It is pouring here tonight too - Mannie is curled up in his bed, sniffing sniffs through a crack in the window. One of his fav things.

I was just thinking about a nice glass of wine, but Tess sort of said no. :roll: Tess is curled up on the far side of the room daring me to prick her ears again.
 
let's see: glass of wine in one hand, a pokey thing and a meter in the other... which will win out.... :-D :-D too bad the answer is never the glass of wine. it's ok though, isn't it? Hey Ella - can't you just see Tess laying here - one eye closed, the other open, with "that look"....

Hey We are here!!!! I got caught at work in these powerful storms, waited till monsoon stopped, traffic lites werent working(really scary!! :shock: )
Got home late, fed& shot cats, DH had a tooth pulled, so it all got complicated!!!
Storm was wicked rain & high winds, but we were OK--Fell asleep the minute I sat in front of TV--Stress I think!

Thanks so much for caring!!!!!! Alll is well--Copper didnt eat his pill either, will try again now!

Stu I hoped you enjoyed the shrimp Puffs--They were fun to make, but those shrimps were wiggling around-ugh! Tasted good though :lol: :lol:
You seem to be doing good & I was so glad to see you & everyone--My bean was late getting home, so I could take my time :lol: :lol: Feel goof & happy Ni NI--HUgs-Moonie!!
