Yesterday.

I am home sick with a stomach flu. :arghh: The cats are huddled against me like warm, furry sentries, guarding me against more cooties. :cat::cat: I am wearing long sleeves, long pants and thick socks to ward off fleas. I have certainly seen better days.

Ruby seems to be doing just fine. Got the okay from her oncologist for the use of Advantage II against the fleas, supports the idea of extermination and says the vaccines are all good, especially if she is to receive chemo at some point in the future.

Hope everyone is having a better day than me. :bighug:

I’m sorry you are feeling ill. It must be what Frank had. At least it was only 24 hours?? Or was it longer? See, you didn’t poison him after all! Feel better soon, Katherine!
I’m not sure that I understand what having vaccines has to do with chemo, but I am sure the girls will be okay. If you are going to do vaccines, you should consider making sure that they get the non-adjuvanted Merial PUREVAX vaccines. They are safer and don’t have the sarcomas associated with them (especially the rabies). Not all vets stock them though. Maybe the NYC AMC will because they are so large and hopefully advanced and forward thinking.

This is very helpful information, Suzanne. I’m taking the cats to their local vet in NJ, not AMC, and I will call tomorrow to ask. Unfortunately I don’t really have another option if it turns out that the vaccines are not the right ones. Between my work and being sick today, my capacity to further coordinate this situation is limited. Ruby’s oncologist did not say if there were some vaccines better than others.

I know. Sorry. I just realized that tomorrow is the beg extermination day (E Day for the fleas!). I hope you will feel better in the morning since you all will have to vacate the premises!
