Although I would have liked to have seen her BG go into the blue'ish spectrum, I was pleased that she stayed out of the black for the entire night. Came close, but never hit 500. One thing that stood out was the numbers didn't spike up and down either but kept at a more slow and steady up and down all night. I'm taking that for a good sign that the bouncing is decreasing in its intensity. Normally she would have bounced beyond the meters ability to read the numbers.

She got her standard 0.01 IU and today started another food ratio adjustment. I've been adding quite literally a half tsp more of the DM each day. So she's now 2 1/2 tsp of DM to 1 1/2 tsp of Raw. There appears to be no tummy upset but I keep watching for any signs of it. She's really had a good past 24 hours as she's been moving all about the house enjoying all these open windows.

I've made note of those nausea drugs suggested in case something more than pepcid is needed. Once she's totally on the DM and doing well I will slowly try getting her to eat more food less frequently but for now plan on continuing as I have. I've noticed she's handling 3 tsp at a time okay when I've offered it, so that's a good thing I can work on into the future. But I'm moving slow with her.

Eating small amounts several times a day is actually good for her. Many cats do that on their own. Sounds like progress.
Oh, how I hope so. She's noticeably happier. She's been busying herself going around and rubbing her face on everything now to let our other cat, Cindy, know this house is hers now. lol. It's too funny. How many small meals a day would you think would be best that I should shoot for in the end? I know every vet I've talked to wants these 2 huge meals for breakfast and dinner and "maybe" a snack between. None of my cats have ever eaten like that. They are grazers. They'd puke if I fed them those amounts at once.

The increase in scent marking behaviour is encouraging, Robyn. Glad Olive's enjoying her windows.

You sound a bit brighter in yourself too. :)

I've gotten more sleep in the last 2 days than I have in the past weeks. Yahoo! I have a renewed sense of calm among the situation now. So I definitely feel brighter today. :) This marathon feels a whole lot more optimistic when you're rested. All in all, I think we've finally landed on the path to getting her doing better and that makes this cat mom a very happy person. She's been eating great today, acting great, mobile, mobile, mobile, scent marking like crazy, running to the kitchen every time she hears the fridge door open, and she just tested negative for ketones. I'll take the small victories with pleasure.:cat:
