9/16 Monty: AMBG 90, PMBG 99, OTJ trial day 8

He's been overgrooming (I think) in the last few days. Much more hair on the floor and there's a small strip of hair missing on his left front leg. I called the vet and they think it could be stress related somehow. They'd like me to bring him in but I am hesitant to do anything to cause him stress during his OTJ trial. Going to try Feliway diffuser to see if that stops it.

Has anything changed in ur home that would make him stressed? And look at u go Monty ur almost there

Recent changes:

1. Had friends over in the last few days (but he is friendly with guests).
2. Adding forteflora to food in the AM
3. Feeding MC kibble sprinkled over his regular 0% wet food to raise his carb intake to 2-3%

Maybe he's having allergy issues with new food or pro-biotic?

Is the new food a different protein? That could be it. Do you see a rash where tge fur is missing?

Looks like this on one leg. The other leg is the same but just 3x bigger (he's asleep atm don't want to wake him). The skin looks healthy.

The protein in his new kibble is turkey. The protein he usually eats is chicken, salmon, shrimp or duck.

So far just missing fur from what I can see. Google military dermatitis because that’s what I’m thinking it might be. I have one that has it and another skin allergy. It usually happens after eating it for a long time though so it could be another ingredient in the new food. If food related it can take a couple weeks without eating it to see if it stops.

I was thinking back to when Mocha showed first signs of dermatitis and I noticed hair loss above her eyes, then scratching, and then I saw the rash. It’s usually caused by a food they have been eating for awhile or it can be seasonal or environmental. I still can’t figure out for sure with Mocha. She seems to get it above her eyes and on her ears.
