Morning - Lanky had a PCR test on his poo sample that came back negative. I'd not heard of that test. But if or when Lanky has another bought with diarrhea I'll try to get a sample and retest. Apparently that test looks for all sorts of reasons for the tummy upset. In the meantime, Lanky will stay on his Pepcid dose. I went back to dosing 1/4 tsp L-lysine powder twice a day because Lanky is sneezing periodically with some discharge, but the eyes & nose seem to have cleared up nicely.

I'm off to catch up on visiting the condos.

yes PCR testing will test for different problems ( parasites and other types of poo bugs) if it came back neg then thats a very good thing :mrgreen: have you tried yogurt like activia for him?
 
I hope Lanky is doing better soon. that is no fun for either of you! have you tried probiotics? what about food allergies?
 
hi susan! sorry lanky is still having tummy & sneezy issues, poor guy. i'd wonder about allergy issues too - not sure how you figure out an allergy in a cat, though.

we leave for CSU in the morning - i've sure been thinking of you and lanky a lot over the past week! we've got reservations at the same place you stayed at - dr lunn will be on vacation and dr timian will be taking care of punkin. did you meet her?
