Still trying to breathe through my little experiment here. If you did not see last night's comment that I made, Mike and I are thinking that the A/B is addressing the infection and bringing Gracie's insulin needs down. She's had three huge dives in the last week with big bounces.....neither of them are like her on levemir. Because she's going so low (and would have gone lower if I hadn't caught it), there is no way to increase her insulin. So our thought is she might have become overdose as the A/B resolves the infection. So I reduced her again today to see if we can flatten this out. Well....she's definitely flat this morning but I was hoping for a gradual descent into blue and not such a high, flat yellow. Patience Grasshopper. I have to give her a little time to catch up. She seems to be feeling fine although she has been a little quiet. I know she is not used to these numbers. She is eating well and has been playing some. I'm keeping a close eye on her ketones.

I had some errands to do yesterday including getting my hair cut and had to cancel so I think she is safe enough for me to leave today to get that done. I'm so shaggy headed!!! :lol: :lol: Have a great day.

What has happened to our little green Gracie? Sorry to hear she has an infection (I haven't gone back and read past condos :oops: ) Sounds like your theory is a good one tho. I hope you can get her leveled out soon.

Thanks for visiting Muffin's condo - it looks like we'll be back, at least for now. I hope I can get the hang of all this again quickly, I'm a little nervous!

Oh yes, Miss Gracie, I think you were much prettier with blue rather than that yellow.
Hope the dose adjustment shows progress soon and makes you feel like something's working.

Thanks for that nice elaborate answer to my question. I'll have to experiment and I think I'd prefer less than 11 future

Hi All - good luck with your experiment. It seems logical, but will require a little waiting to see if it works or not. Sorry for the infection - somehow I missed that part? Be well Gracie!

Hi Marje, where are those nice Gracie numbers? Your theory sounds good to me. It's similar to when a kitty needs a dental with the infected teeth. After the teeth are extracted and infection clears, numbers improve. I don't know if that helps. I hope she clears the bounce but no Gracie dramarama!

Anne: her liver values went up so I took her in for an U/S which showed her bile duct dilated with no obstruction which indicates infection. So they put her on clavamox, ursodiol, and denamarin. This could have been brewing a while. I would have never known if I hadn't taken her in for routine checkup and bloodwork....she's been acting 150% healthy/happy.

Patience pants .....I know I thought I loaned them out but I'm going to have to wear them a bit. First, we have to clear out the higher dose depot and the bounce and then see what we have left.

Yay Gracie!!!! You found your way back to the blues! I love how things that sound so sad or bad in the normal world have such a different meaning here in FDMB land! In the real world, it's not good to have the blues...here, it's FANTASTIC! Hope your experimenting pays off (which I'm sure it will because you and DH are so smart and on top of these things!) Glad to hear her infection is clearing up. Good luck with your experiment!

Hoping for some more nice blues, and maybe a few greens :mrgreen: , through the night!
 
Glad to have my patience pants back and with my recent GI issues, I can easily fit into them again :lol: :lol:

Just what we were looking for.....a slow slide down into better numbers. My beloved is now home so I'll have someone to share testing with tonight :-D
 
Nice blue descent, and so much nicer than those "other" un-Gracie colors. Between you and Gracie you are the AB queens, hope it is a short reign! :YMHUG:
