Good Morning--almost afternoon--everyone,

Getting a late start today: 43 degrees outside and it was so cold and damp in the house that we had to put the heat on. As a result Rusty decided to skip his schmooze and headed to his little bed by the radiator. I fell asleep on the couch waiting for him to come for his schmooze!! He didn't finish his nighttime food, undoubtedly because he didn't want to get up out of the warm covers. In any event, he has a good AMPS: in his normal range for AMPS. If he isn't on a rising trend, we may see green later (or we may not). He's still on his little bed by the radiator and it's almost lunch time. He had a good shot, good breakfast, and a delicious "lung treat" (Allerplex in turkey baby food).

We just got back from the farmers' market with lots of goodies. I'll have to make a minestrone tonight because we can't fit everything into the 'fridge. Edward has his sourdough starter working and will make bread tomorrow--first time all summer. He has a new cast-iron dutch oven that he wants to use for his modification of the Sullivan St. Bakery "no knead" recipe. He has been baking this bread in a clay cloche and the crust is so hard that it is almost impossible to cut (almost broke the bread knife last spring). He is hoping that the cast iron will work better. Stay tuned! We'll know tomorrow.

Sending healing vines to Jupiter and all kitties and beans who are not feeling well,

Wishing you all a great weekend. Chef Rusty is off to Elian's OTJ party with a bunch of new Cuban recipes.

Re: 9/14 Rusty AMPS 134

Hey Rusty,

Where are you! I know you gots lots of fuds to carry and I'm here flying above your house! I'll land in the lake and you hurry on out OK! We got lots of partying to do and I have to pick up lots of kitttehs in the jet so we can get there quick!

Oooh bring your cape, cause I got the CATapult locked and loaded and ready to send kittehs flying!

Do you think you borrow Edward bean's oven and we can use it to make empanadas and tortillas! Maybe take the sourdough and soup too! I'll bet someone the less adventurous kittehs will eat it.

What a lovely day to party at the Copa Copabanana.... lol

Woo hoo Rusty, I bet you can see the lagoon up ahead!

I LOVE reading Rusty is in "his little bed by the radiator". It sounds so cozy. cat_pet_icon

HI Ella ~O) ~O) ~O)

It's great to see Rusty in more Rusty like numbers. Almost green on the last one.

oh wow on the cold, and you had to turn the heat on? bummer! We are cooling here too. The fogs have been back bigtime, and more often than not do not clear until late afternoon. I think Rusty had the right idea last night: Stay in bed, under the covers! I had this visual flashback: all the kitties making a beeline to Rusty's so they can sleep on the radiator. What a great memory. :-D

Wonderful on the farmers market! It sounds like a bounty of fresh awesome things. minestrone would be wonderful. I had small chuckle over the bread knife. Good luck Edward with the new pan. :-D

Have a great evening!

The LagoonMeister is on duty!

He had some outdoor time this afternoon, but started to meow loudly. He didn't seem to want to go inside, so we just talked to him, thinking he might have seen something that frightened him. But then Edward went inside and Rusty followed. I was puttering around in the garage, and when I went in I saw that he had "contributed" to his litterbox. He was meowing because he wanted to go inside to use his box!!

It was a beautiful day here after the fog and drizzle cleared out. Very cool. Very fall-like. The trees are approaching peak color.

Wishing you all a fine evening,

Ella & Rusty (who is cooking at the Copacabana tonight for Elian's OTJ party)

Hi Ella,
Nice number for Rusty.
Maybe he was saying "I go use the box but don't close the door yet, OK?".
I started giving Allerplex to Lucy from today too!

Hi Ella

What a wonderful day for Rusty. Nice blue numbers, nice cool weather to go outside.
It always cracked me up, that he went inside to use the LB

It was nice and cool, but windy here, making it uncomfortable to go for a walk.

Hi everyone and thanks for visiting. Rusty ate almost all of his dinner at bedtime, about 1/2 hour before his bedtime test, so I think the 153 is food-influenced. He free feeds, so we never know when he will eat his food.

Barb, I'm glad you are enjoying good weather, too. We have to keep tabs on our different parts of the state!

Mariko, good luck with the Allerplex. It takes a few weeks to begin to "work", so don't expect miracles immediately. Also, be aware that one of the main ingredients--fenugeek--can lower blood glucose. It doesn't seem to for Rusty, but Tarragon has had lower numbers since using Allerplex.

See you all tomorrow,

Ella & Rusty
