Good Morning--almost afternoon--everyone,
Getting a late start today: 43 degrees outside and it was so cold and damp in the house that we had to put the heat on. As a result Rusty decided to skip his schmooze and headed to his little bed by the radiator. I fell asleep on the couch waiting for him to come for his schmooze!! He didn't finish his nighttime food, undoubtedly because he didn't want to get up out of the warm covers. In any event, he has a good AMPS: in his normal range for AMPS. If he isn't on a rising trend, we may see green later (or we may not). He's still on his little bed by the radiator and it's almost lunch time. He had a good shot, good breakfast, and a delicious "lung treat" (Allerplex in turkey baby food).
We just got back from the farmers' market with lots of goodies. I'll have to make a minestrone tonight because we can't fit everything into the 'fridge. Edward has his sourdough starter working and will make bread tomorrow--first time all summer. He has a new cast-iron dutch oven that he wants to use for his modification of the Sullivan St. Bakery "no knead" recipe. He has been baking this bread in a clay cloche and the crust is so hard that it is almost impossible to cut (almost broke the bread knife last spring). He is hoping that the cast iron will work better. Stay tuned! We'll know tomorrow.
Sending healing vines to Jupiter and all kitties and beans who are not feeling well,
Wishing you all a great weekend. Chef Rusty is off to Elian's OTJ party with a bunch of new Cuban recipes.
