Once she went into the black yesterday she stayed there and has remained there. As is her pattern when she's so high, she wouldn't eat through the night. Knowing once she finally does eat on an empty stomach she might throw up, I watered down some food and forced it through a plastic syringe. She was quite ticked with me, thrashing her tail and bolting from my presence. I never got much in her through the whole night. A tsp or if I'm lucky, 2. I didn't test her as it was pointless, but I tried offering the food she wouldn't eat.
Her AMPS still reading Hi. I gave 0.01IU and the pepcid and I'm praying for her to come down from the black. She licked up about a tsp on her own for breakfast, but only after MUCH begging and following her around. I wish it had been more but it's a start. Hoping this day improves.

Hi Robyn,

If you can keep getting Olive to eat very small, fairly frequent amounts then between that and the famotidine it might help settle her tum a bit, but if it doesn't very, very soon then I'd take up the vet's suggestion to get back to them about additional anti-nausea and appetite supporting meds.

My kitty Loki was doing similar at the start. But vet thought that it was some pancreatic involvement which doesn't surprise me given that he was malnourished at his prior home. So we are giving cerenia once a day. That has perked him right up.

The day has turned some positive tides. Since her BG came down she started eating on her own. I continue to offer the small frequent meals and I've stuck with yesterday's food ration since she didn't eat much all night and into the morning hours. The fact she's feeling better is noticeable in that she's been all over the house since. It's a beautiful day here and the windows open, so she's been investigating them all.;) She's NEGATIVE for ketones.

Max did really well on ondansetron fir nausea and when I figured out his dose didn’t need any appetite stimulant.
