Bell's bounce took 2 cycles to clear but now she seems right back on track.
She had a vet visit today at +3 for a blood test to recheck her liver values and to look at her anal gland.
The vet said she was extra feisty today (I think she is beginning to associate the vet with getting a finger stuck up her butt
). All her numbers looked good! Her ALT number, which was the reason they wanted to check again, dropped from 121 to 44. When they told me her blood glucose looked a lot better as well, I had to bite my tongue from laughing (if they only knew how much i already knew that).
The vet said the anal gland wasn't swollen and looked good. She didn't feel like there was fluid in there to express, so I think that is good as well. She said I can't really do much to prevent another rupture from occurring, outside of make sure Bell's poops don't get too hard or soft. With the good probiotics I've been giving Bell, they have been good, so I'll just have to play the waiting game to see if this is the last time we have to deal with a rupture. Realllllllly hope it is.
Happy Friday the 13th to all who celebrate, both my black cats do
