Yesterday: good numbers all day!
It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a . . . diving Papaya? After the overall ickiness of seeing HI on the meter this morning, I thought it was one that was going to last a while because she was quite restless. Yesterday I put a low shelf between my bed and the wall, just at mattress height, which I can store boxes underneath and bedside-table stuff on top of, but Papaya was a bit of a nuisance early this morning grabbing at things within her reach. First it was tissue, then a little pile of loose bobby pins which apparently were just soooo fun to flick with her paw! But she's coming down so fast maybe it was that making her fidgety, or maybe it was just too tempting having all these new things within easy reach!
Papaya had really good numbers yesterday, but spent the WHOLE day under a quilt on my bed. I think she's in love with it. An older lady I've known since I was a child recently gave me this quilt she made. It's a very bold purple design (drunkard's path blocks for those who quilt, arranged so it's kind of like a giant flower, actually very well chosen colours) but it's good-old-Fortrelle fabric so a bit stiff. Somehow that must make a perfect cat-cave, I guess because it is more likely to hold itself up into nice tunnel-like ripples than just cling to the cat, so yesterday Papaya would come half out to eat then turn around and burrow back under her Big Purple Quilt. I hope it holds her down to earth today so she doesn't bounce back up after this morning's quick drop!
Thinking of Jamie & Jupiter and Angela & Blackie's Shadow today.
