Good morning!
AMPS 394 shooting 2.5u

Boomer ate all of his overnight fuds all by himself....my boy is growing up so fast
Allen also ate all of his overnight fuds.

So yesterday morning DH and I went out early (right after AMPS) and actually managed to find a green heron! And I raised my camera....my BA lens....and nothing. Wouldn't focus. Panic set in. After a few seconds of checking settings I discovered a switch that had accidentally been shifted. BAH. Raised camera and green heron looked away so my shots were all body no head/face And then it flew. And it had been the perfect shot! It was actually only about 10 feet away from me. We continued on our walk and coming back DH spotted it in a tree. So I did get a shot of it but it's not nearly as good as the first one would have been UGH. So I'm heading back right after AMPS and hopefully it will be around again.

I went out right after AMPS and preparing of the auto feeders. Had success! Saw 2 green herons one of which was quite close. He was very badly backlit by the sun though so I'm hoping that some of the shots work out! Also stalked some yellow finches and got some decent images.
Today I have a short portrait session at the spot where I saw the wood duck a couple of days ago so I'll go early to do some birding there.

Half an hour until +3 so I'll know whether Boomer is going to work the juice today or continue his bounce.

I really like the picture. I had no idea that there was such a thing as a green heron... and that it looks nothing like a blue heron (which is pretty common around here).

I knew of their existence but didn't know they could be found around here. I think that they may be migrating through but not 100% sure. We see blue herons all year long and I've seen several lately. The green herons are about 14-16 inches tall I believe.

Those green herons are itty bitty! We see the big guys every day by the shore, unphased by us.

We have green herons here. Several different types of both herons and egrots. The herons fish frogs, crawdads and other things in the ditches. There is a wildlife refuge down by the coast that is known for nesting of the Great White egrots.

We had to run an egrot off when we were bank fishing one day. He wouldn't stay out of our 5 gallon bucket we had our bait shrimp in. They are BIG birds with very LARGE beaks. Lol.

Neat picture. Didn't know Herons came in a size small. We have the long-legged, wide-winged herons at our local reservoir. Gorgeous.

Now Boomer. We know Herons come in blue. And green. Be like a heron.

We saw a Great Blue Heron on our hike today. But a Green is something special. Congrats on getting a really neat photo (I like the branch shot).
