Blast it!! i think i may have pulled a fur shot this morning...he flinched a little...and the shot just didnt feel right. his fur didnt feel damp (i shave the shot spot), and there was an insulin smell, but i overdrew this morning and there was some on my fingers before i pinched the tent to shoot. combination of errors? guess we'll know as the day progresses.

morning all...how are the beans feeling after the sugar orgy yesterday?

You just had a beautiful blue surf yesterday! Way to go. And don't beat yourself up. Sometimes beans need their sleep. :-D

Sometimes when you overdraw and express some insulin, the needle or the syringe is coated with smelly insulin,,,,and it was on your fingers too. So, the numbers will tell eventually. At least he is low this morning...

So Celi ...what is your last name? You didn't answer my guesses in yesterdays' condo...

I see that you had what, 5 blank white boxes on you SS for yesterday?? That is a FINE job. I am all proud and happy to see all those boxes in the AM cycle all filled in and properly colored.... :lol: Poor Binks...is he still talking to you? Hope you guys have a wonderful day! :YMHUG:

We're seeing his vet monday am...1st visit since June 25th. i'll post what tests, etc happened then (separate cuz computer timee-outees)...and would like some idea of what i should be asking, or tests he might benefit from.

his vet is very knowledgeable re: diabetes, and was the first to mention home testing, etc.

she wanted him on lantus right away, but due to a brief financial embarassment, was unable to switch until 8/15 when DCIN helped.

reversal of reversal of fortune 1st of sept...so would like to get input on what we want from this visit.

and spoil all the fun, Ann? no way! although my middle name IS ann.

don't have written results of all the tests, will get them 2moro...but ultrasound showed normal organs with exception of an extremely large bladder (go figure).

the vetsulin he was on seemed to be non-viable...the vet has looked in on the FDMB and is very positive about the forum...i've given them DCIN business cards. Binks was having intestinal issues, so he went on I/D canned after visit, no sign of digestive issues since...tho he's been off the I/D for over a month.

so, why is it that i cant seem to get his profile up and running if i can post something this lengthy??

actually...with all the good names, the truth is gonna be kinda anti-climactic...and you guys aresavvy enuf to look it up on facebook...so here you go:

it's Cudd... no joke...Cudd. derivative of the scots/irish McGillicuddy or Cudahy. reminiscent of what cows like to chew.

Celi Ann Cudd...initials CAC, which sounds like a cat bringing up a furball.

employees who like me call me "cuddles"...those who don't...well...

my brother, at one time wanted to be called "Bud"... Bud Cudd

binks has chosen to use the pseudonym Dorothy...in tribute to Judy Garland and my grandmother(GA and truly the predecessor to Binks kind soul...)

Well, I'm glad we got that all straightened out!!! I wondered about the cross-dressing and the stiletto heals. Binks is really Dorothy. Makes perfect sense. So, Binks/Dorothy has a great day going today. Keep it up, and we'll see which one shows up at the OTJ parties tonight: Binks or Dorothy.

Definitely not a furshot! I usually overdraw too, I slip a small piece of paper towel over the needle and it absorbs the excess I squeeze out. No Lantus smell on fingers or needle.

not a day goes by that i don't have occasion to thank the omniscient cat above for bringing this boy to me...

due to an error in judgment yesterday (believe it or not, i suffer from a lot of those), I am back in the aircast again...and when Dorothy (bless his compassionate lil heart) saw how much trouble i was having hunkering down on the testing rug...he took pity on me. Next test time, he skipped the rug and jumped up on the couch with me...so we now have a new test area.

carolyn- dx was the week b4 we moved...vet knew little, gave us vetsulin, but referred us to a good vet here. next day i was in hospital for 2 days, then relocation took almost 42 hrs...binks was in sad shape. got him to vet here, he came home with me o/n with squids, then back following day. vet mentioned home testing, lantus, and m B12, but financial upset kept us from going back or even switchin insulin...so he was on a non-viable btl of vetsulin from 6/15 until we found FDMB & DCIN 8/15. now that we're financially afloat again, i want to get vet's eyes on him in case i've missed anything that i should have been sharing with the forum...

guess its check-up/hey, what havent i spotted type of appt.

Im-pat-ster...you can call me anything you like, lady...just dont call me late for the laughter!

and just when he was having such an even day, bean-world intrudes and his pm shot was 35 mins late.

i did try experimenting with LC natures instinct canned as his test treats,which may have helped todays surf and fed smaller minimeals after reading posts about what folks were feeding the larger guys...thought he might be getting a lil much.

i'm sure y'all dont need to be told this...but i ALWAYS look better than the bean...and the vet clinic better have a darn good explanation for my missing nipple, or i'm not dis-robing! i didnt see the bean offering herself up for shaving last visit. ( that reminds me...i better start deciding on an outfit for the morning...)

Thanks A.S.-it is a good thing we have so much fun here on the forum...makes it easier to deal with helping them get healthy.
